Not a big surprise here. LeBron is staying with the cavs for atleast one more season.

The Cavs need to go after either Dirk or Pau.

Both would give them a talented 7 footer with championship experiences.  Both would help TT/LeBron/Love on the boards — with Pau being the better rebounder (and shot blocker).

Pau would give them a better passer and a more legit center option, BUT Dirk is a better outside shooter, floor spacer, and all-around scorer.

LeBron/Dirk pick and pops would be VERY effective.

Dirk could play alongside EITHER Love or TT.  OR, they can go small with LeBron at power forward and Dirk at center.  No DOMINANT rim protector with those two inside but both guys can block some shots…

Then the Cavs should trade Iman Shumpert for spare parts (on the wing), 2nd round picks or a late first rounder, plus cash to help resign JR Smith.

Kyrie Irving, JR Smith, LeBron, Dirk, and TT/Love gives the Cavs a really nice small ball-ish lineup while not actually being THAT small.  With Love in those rotations instead of TT then you have LeBron and four ABOVE AVERAGE 3 point snipers (with decent size/length) on the court.  Dirk gives the Cavs another post-up option along with LeBron and Love.

They round out their 9 man rotation with either TT or Love (or Dirk?) as their 6th man, Delly and Mozgov as 7th and 8th rotation guys, then whatever cheaper wing replaces Shump at the 2/3 spots.

Mo Williams looks expendable so I would try to deal him for a younger (deep rotation) 2 guard plus a mid to late 2nd round pick.

They should also look at playing James Jones more.  He can really shoot the 3, and the Cavs would then have enough 2 way players around him.

I guess, long term, that ANYTHING is possible, but I find it more likely that LeBron does double duty for the Cleveland Browns than skipping town to play for another NBA team.

That’d be nice. I doubt Dirk accepts a bench role, let alone leave the team he’s played for his entire career to do so. Pau would be a nice addition, but he’s probably gonna end up with the Spurs.

    Yeah, Dirk might not leave.

If he DOES, then I think the Cavs would promise to start him with Tristan Thompson, then you have Kevin Love off the bench.

Then I would trade Shump, Mo Williams, Mozgov, a future 1st rounder, and future second round picks to Memphis for Tony Allen, Birdman, and 57.

TA and Birdman give the Cavs a nice veteran goon squad off the bench along with Delly, Love, and I am guessing James Jones.

Then at 57 get a legit scorer like Danuel House.

So, with this new retooled Cavs team you are going "all in" for the next 2 or 3 years (tops).

I think that would make the Cavs the front runner for next year’s title, depending, of course, on what Kevin Durant does.

A Lakers Super Team is more likely to involve Kevin Durant, in my opinion, and not LeBron or Dirk.

Should be a fun offseason (hopefully)!

He’ll sign a one year deal so if things go south, he can get out.

when you come home like he did and win one for the land like he said he would ,He can leave if he wants… but will never desire to leave.

So despite the wishful thinking of non clevelanders that the Lebron James show might be coming to a theatre near them You apparently need to be reminded that things like this usualy only happen in the movies…to leave now or any time in the future is so unlikely that I would bet he owns the Cavs before it happens.

He would have signed a four-year deal when he first came back. I was in Cleveland the day he went back. They first reported a 4-year deal, then a two year deal. Eventually, he signed a 1-and-1. Then he signed another 1-and-1. He’ll probably sign another one. He wants to have all the power and leverage so if he doesn’t get his way he can bolt.

Don’t give me the money garbage, he can make that difference in money whenver he wants.
