MettaWorldDurant1ParticipantAnyone knows the game should see that the best chance for Lebron James to contend for a title is to stick with the Heat and let Riley get some pieces to surround him. Assuming the big three comes back the line up should resemble this :
G: Norris Cole
G: Dwyane Wade
F: LeBron James
F: Chris Bosh C:
Chris AndersenUFA* F: Udonis Haslem UFA* F: Justin Hamilton
Player option – *
I think the Heat should take serious look at some of these Players
Eric Bledsoe : Versatile. Is an instant upgrade at PG. Doesn’t over command the ball. Could play along side Wade or Cole as either SG or PG, with the way small ball goes these days. Bledsoe may want to reduce his role to a 3rd 4th or option in order to win big.
Trevor Ariza: Opt not to Re-sign Beasley and try to bring in Trevor Ariza in a similar situation to Bledsoe. The core of Lebron , Rashard Lewis(if they get him back) and Ariza would be pretty solid defensively(Ariza Can score 8th in the league at SF 13.6 a night) and would cover up for the loss of Battier and Beasley.
Spencer Hawes: Won’t really help much of the size need for Miami but is versatile, seasoned and has an reliable jumpshot..Sound like a fit; Hawes is in fact one of the top offensive forward/centers available(13.2ppg) other than Greg Monroe(15.2) who wouldn’t fit and wound command the ball more IMO.
What I took from the finals was that even with D-Wades injuries the big 3 played pretty well. Miami could contend for a title by adding 1-3 quality role players.

BallinmvpParticipantBledsoe is a restricted free agent and after the season he had the subs won’t let him go.

d-grizzlyParticipantI won’t give you a down vote, but there’s no way the Heat get Bledsoe. Ariza is a very low possibility and I doubt Hawes is going to take less now when he’s not even really that old. He has plenty left in the tank.
What I think will happen is Wade will take a pay cut and so will Bosh. I could see them taking on contracts that have less upfront, and more near the end of their contracts. This will allow them to bring in more help while realistically not giving up much money.
In addition, I have no idea what kind of help they’ll bring in. I would love to see them get shooters like green/mike miller and defenders like battier/leonard. Lastly, they need some strength at the 1 and 2 spot. If they can get very strong defenders that can make open shots and run the fastbreak, they’ll win another ring or at least be way better than what we just saw. One of their last needs of players is a legitimate muscle man. Birdman was used as a post defender when he’s just a hustle points guy. Bad idea. I don’t think Haslem has it in him to be leaned on as that man anymore. They need a guy like Diaw that can pass effectively, defend, and run the fastbreak.
Lastly, Spoelstra needs to implement a different system with this team. They need to pass the ball a lot more and get their conditioning up to elite standards.

FutureNBAGMParticipantI dont think the Heat will be able to afford Bledsoe for what he’ll be asking for.

ropeParticipantThere would be some irony if they went after Lance Stephenson. I never really liked the guy, but I think he is going to play in a lot of important games in his career.
