Ghost01ParticipantWait a second….
So these are the guys who were two most dominate players in the league from 06-10, teamed up, talked about 6,7,8 championships, rolled through the East last year and completed no showed (Lebron) and choked (wade) against Dallas, ripped through the East this season, saw their best adversaries franchise player go down (Rose) and then lost twice in a row to the completely outmatched Pacers, just because Chris Bosh was out. But we are going to crown them, congratulate them, tell "the critics to shut up", all because they both played good for once in what was an absolulte MUST WIN???? Really? Against Indiana? In the eastern conference semi-finals? Are you kiddddddding me? Not to mention, on their 4 possessions down the stretch, it was Haslem, followed by Anthony, followed by Haslem, followed by Haslem who took the shots.

I May Be WrongParticipantI really hate when people try to diminish a great performance. It’s like trying to find a flaw in the Dark Knight – "oh I didn’t like the performance that Maggie Gyllenhaal had" …. yeah, but the f*cking movie was still great.
Point being, this was a hell of a performance made by two star players who have little support from a cast of role players who have not showed up consistently. It sounds like you’re trying to downplay the Pacers because any sensible fan knows that this Pacers squad are 9 deep, have a top 5 defense, and, finished with the 5th best record overall in the entire league. That’s no cake walk for semi-conference match-up. This series has been fantastic and it looks like it could very well be a 7 game series (I had this 6 even before the Bosh injury). No one is crowning them and if they are, then they don’t know what they are talking about. If they make it the Finals this year, I can confidently say they deserved it. No team is laying down for them and they’ll have to earn each win.
But at the end of the day, 40-18-9 speaks volume and will go down as one of the best individual performances by any player. Wade (after starting 1-8) came on strong and put on a hell of a show as well. You don’t have to like them but for one day, you just have to sit back and apperciate what these two did.

Lebron played great the whole game and Wade for the 2nd half and a few mins in the 1st half too.
Outside of missing a few free throws they were both great.
Will be hard for both to do that 2 more times in the same game but the role players were better.
Chalmers, Haslem, Battier, Miller, Joel Anthony etc if 2 of those step up Miami should win the series.
Also I think Wade realizes he has to attack the rim and not settle for jumpers that will get more open shots and Hibbert into foul trouble.
Lebron man he’s just been awesome

Memphis MadnessParticipantLeBron had a brilliant game. At one point in the second half they showed LeBron’s numbers next to Magic’s. Then thy put up Larry Bird’s numbers and Michael Jordan’s numbers. And I thought, yeah those are the best for non-centers ever. LBJ’s in great company, he had an awesome game and I think he flipped the switch during the game. If he keeps playing like that he will get it done this year. And it will be because of him, not because Wade and Bosh helped carry him to a title.
LeBron has to carry them. It’s his team. Just as the Bulls were Jordan’s team even though Pippen and Rodman were on that team too.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantThe Heat won because Joel Anthony and Udonis Haslem closed the game out?
Tell me more on how they created their own offense.

aamir543ParticipantThe Heat held the Pacers off thanks in–part to Joel Anthony’s rim protection, and Haslem finally knocking down shots. Lebron and Wade have been creating for their teamtes for a long time, but Haslem came up big with those shots. Had Haslem missed those shots, the Pacers could have creeped into the game, but those are shots he should and will hit, but Lebron and Wade were the heroes today, but it makes you wonder whther it’s gonna have to be like this every time for the Heat to win a game, because had Hibbert not been in foul trouble, the Pacers may have been able to sqeak this one out despite the amazing performances by Lebron and Wade. Tol is right when he says that Vogul left Amundson in the game too long, but he obviously wanted to preserve Hibbert as much as possible, had the Pacers made some shots, got a couple stops, and Haslem missed a shot or two, we could still be looking at those gaudy numbers for Lebron and Wade but Indiana could’ve won. This one will go the distance, I predict Miami to win the series, but the Pacers to win game 5 in Miami, and then Lebron and Wade to come out in an elimination game in Indiana and blow us away with their effort, sort of like MJ and Scottie did in the close out game against Indiana in ’98, where they each had like 15 boards, and then I expect Miami to come back home and finish them off in a highly entertaining series that could have gone either way, but I would not be surprised at all to see the Pacers gut this one out, they just need to pound the ball inside to Hibbert and West more, keep them out of foul trouble, and stop jacking up so many threes.

417basketballfanParticipantthe heat played great, but at the same time when the same time hibbert was out with foul trouble when the heat put on their run..This series go 7 games for sure. well unless lebron scores 40 the next 2 games again lol

PulseGlazerParticipantIt’s a team game. I’ve watched seriously since around 90, seen on NBA TV and ESPN classic every major game since at least 78…. and it’s a team game. Sometime a guy really takes over and controls everything. Lebron, as amazing as he was tonight, didn’t do that. But, so? He played incredibly. Without numerous players and plays the game could have gone either way. Can we just credit him for an incredible performance and realize that mroe is expected because of who he is and what his abilities are? This seriously needs to be damn near a regular thing for him on the way for a title to silence critics. Still, today was incredible. We all good?

Ghost01ParticipantIm glad all of you missed the points, but Im sure I deserved the negs for not being overly impressed.
Lebron James was phenomenal. And I’m not saying he isn’t the Heats best player, or anything like that.
The bottomline is, this team should be rolling. This team should be beating these other teams in the East like its child’s play. And as bad as they’ve been in the first 3 games of this series, we are overglorifying them for doing exactly what they are suppose to be. Lebron’s 40-18-9 today, and then the next game he won’t want to take too many shots and he’ll sit in the corner in the fourth, or claim Carmelo was going to "deny him the ball." If you guys think he was great tonight, you are right, and that is fine. But this isn’t a big deal. The bigger deal is how badly the Heat have struggled in this series. That game today was close, despite getting 70 from Lebron and Wade. Im not mad, I acknowledge how good James was, and I am not in any way taking a "Skip Bayless" angle on this. I have defended Lebron as the best player in the league all along now, but this series has been very very disappointing. If you are overly impressed they played well in a must win, that’s fine. I remember that great game LBJ put up when Cleveland was down 3-1 to Orlando in 2009. Great Lebron, but until this guy wills his team to a championship like I know he is capable of, I’m not going to kiss his behind.

HaleParticipantThey would be rolling through the East if the role players they have did anything whatsoever offensively. All they do is miss wide open jump shots. If LeBron and Wade (who hasn’t been consistent) were getting literally any help they’d be up 3-1 and close it out in 5.

J_01ParticipantOn offense the heat are playing mostly 2 on 5 with all their "shooters" in a slump and unable to hit a 3. Lebron has played well in all 4 games and wade has played well in 3, with the 2nd offensive option in game 3 coming from Chalmers. The Heat would probably be rolling through the east with Bosh healthy as he would be a 3rd consistent scoring option and the pressure for the role players to score to become less. Without Bosh the Heat need players aside from wade and bron to score about 25-30 points together and they should be able to win this series in 7 maybe even 6.
