IlladelphParticipantBeen hearing a lot lately about Lebron getting Blatt fired. Then I heard Lebron issue a sort-of denial. Then I read this BR article saying that Lebron left Miami because Riley wouldn’t fire Spoelstra. Also, I remember wondering why Miami burned its first round pick that year on Shabazz Napier, and in the same piece it says that Lebron demanded that Napier be drafted. Apparently Miami drafted Napier for Lebron, only to have Lebron bail to Cleveland.
Lebron is an elite talent, but could he be undermining himself by playing politics and pulling the superstar card to get people canned? He probably would have been better off staying in Miami with Bosh and Wade, and good ol’ Spo. Hard to see the move to Cleveland as being a winner for King James.

ballislyfe25ParticipantHard to see it as being a winner for him how? Lebron was 2 wins away from a third NBA championship without a former All-Star in Kevin Love and one of the best/best young players in the league in Kyrie Irving. They were starting to figure things out before Love went down in Boston and then Irving went down. This year, Cleveland is again the best team in the East and should return to the Finals pretty easily, as long as Lebron stays healthy. This group need be in no rush to figure everything out today and, as long as they start clicking by April/May, should be a formidable opponent for the Western Conference winner. Think about that…this team is struggling with their strategic identity and has at least 2 months to still figure it out, while still being the top seed in the East. If the team changes course and decides to move on from Kevin Love via trade, they will be justly compensated.
People have a short memory but in the finals Miami lost to San Antonio, the Spurs crushed the Heat. They ran into a buzzsaw and, IMO, it demoralized them. Miami’s Big 3 had pretty clearly run its course and Pat Riley deserves credit for retooling the roster and adding Dragic, Winslow, and Whiteside.

EspressoParticipantI have to agree that Lebron never really liked Spo. Remember "The Bump" when Lebron crashed shoulder to shoulder into Spo after a timeout out of frustration was called. I think the media didn’t make it to be what it wasn’t… I really feel Lebron didn’t get out of Spo way on purpose.
Lebron is great, but he really likes to get things done his way. He changes how people play around him, coaching styles, and even decisions such as drafting… but he is one of the best ever.
I actually agree that Lebron is not the most likeable person in the world, and as humble as he tries to be, I feel like he still has a huge ego.

UncledrewParticipantLebron is as humble as a person of his noteriety and magnitude could be. Sometimes he pulls his superstar "ace card" out, but he has every reason to. People actually want to slight the man for "The decision" and even for going back to cleveland. It seems now that he’s peaking as a player people are ready to mark his place within the all time greats when really it’s too early for that. Lebron outburst is his expressing the urgency of the situation and wants his team to rise to the challenge of playing on championship level and competing with Golden State. He just wants a legit chance and he knows if his team play up to their full capabilites he can get the next championship for Cleveland.

llperezi thought it was common knowledge at the time of the draft that the shabazz napier pick was lebrons call. I rember reading multiple things on the internet about it even prior to the draft.

Hype MachineLebrons been put on a global pedestal since he was a teenager.
Dudes bound to be a bit messed up in the Michael Jackson/Britney Spears mould.
How could he realistically be expected to act like a normal person.
He would be so used to criticism from outsiders that it wouldnt even register. But anyone around him would be kissing major a$$.
