It seems like most teams in both leagues have a shot at improving from last year. CLE and TOR seem to be the only teams in the East that you can say got worse, maybe Charlotte too since I dont think they will be a playoff team again. Other than that every other team looks improved.

In the West PHX and maybe DEN (who knows what happens with that roster) look like the only teams that will lose a step. NO and GS will probably finish pretty much the smae as last year. Utah and OKC are going to be the 2 teams to step up and challenge LA.

Some teams are going to disappoint us and be a lot worse than we expected. In the West I think Houston is the only team that makes the playoffs that didnt make it last year (replacing phx). In the East I think WAS and NY replaces CLE and CHA in the playoffs.

Its good to see theres a lot of optimism (even for NJ and Minny) all around the league for most teams but a lot of players changed teams its simply not going to work in some places, mostly in the West. Personally I think DEN (even if they keep melo) and SA are going to drop off and barely get the 7 / 8 seed in the west, and I dont think GS NO or MEM will do any better than last year. MEM might add a couple wins but they wont make the playoffs.

In the East CLE is going to lose about 30 more games than last year and TOR will lose about 20 more. Those are a big numbers but they just arent very talented. Those wins will be spread around the East and well see a much deeper Eastern Conference. Probably the deepest weve seen it in at least 10 years. Thoughts??

I could see Cleveland going winning 40 and making the playoffs as a 7 or 8 seed, but it’s obvious they will be A LOT worse than previous years, that’s what happens when you lose the heart and soul of your team and city. I believe Toronto will be the worst team in the east by far, they never played D to begin with and they are a young team. But like the op said, a lot of teams improved this year, which will make for better basketball for the fans to watch, this is going to be an exciting season.
