I hate to talk about it and I hate hearing it.. BUT, the latest on Melo is just crazy… I dont understand it…

NY is going to give up 1 rotation guy for a superstar..  Melo has really forced his way to NY and I think its stupid.

Anyway, possible 9 man rotations for the teams involved after the trade.

    Knicks:

    1. Felton
    2. Fields
    3. Melo
    4. Amare
    5. Mozgov
    6. Douglas
    7. Gallo
    8. Williams
    9. Mason

    Timberwolves:

    1. Ridnour
    2. Johnson
    3. Beasley
    4. Love
    5. Milicic
    6. Flynn
    7. Randolph
    8. Webster
    9. Pekovic

    Nuggets:

    1. Billups
    2. Brewer
    3. Chandler
    4. Martin
    5. Nene
    6. Lawson
    7. Smith
    8. Harrington
    9. Andersen

Obviously NY gets better here but of the other two teams, who do you think gets better?? Also, do you think that the Wolves at least give Curry a shot to break the rotation??

Gallo is below Toney Douglas on NY’s depth chart?

I do not see how this benefits the Wolves. If anything, they have the same weaknesses as the Knicks and Randolph would struggle for PT. He is a good prospect, but the pick should be nowhere near the lottery. Denver does get very little, but it would be better than nothing in my opinion. People seem to think the Knicks can just sign Melo in the off-season for nothing, but they will at least need to give up something to make it all work. At the very least they need to do a sign and trade and give up some picks. Denver needs to take what they can get, and to me if they get Minnesota’s first round pick in either 2011 or 2013, they are well on their way to rebuilding.

One thing I have to say is that Denver and Carmelo have handled this horribly. I have no idea why Carmelo for the good of those fans and himself just said, "Make it work". Right now, the Nuggets have gone through the season as being a bottom play-off team, and I am sure they would rather have honestly gone to rebuilding immediately rather than having Melo play there knowing he was gone. You had a feeling LeBron and Bosh were gone, but you really didn’t know. With Melo, it was well known and every time something would come out, he would just say "I am keeping my options open."  When New York is your only option, I guess that makes sense?

Truly, the Knicks would win the heck out of this deal and Minnesota get screwed if it does indeed turn out like this. I doubt Curry plays and he probably signs with the Heat or goes to Europe if their is a lockout. Nonetheless, he has made out like a bandit. Even if Minnesota feels that "Anthony Randolph’s Potential" is worth a first round pick, you have to be freaked of the possibilities of said pick. For Denver, you get a decent starter in Chandler, though how will he work in Denver’s system? I guess they play run and gun ball, so maybe not terribly, but he is no Melo. Brewer has not shown very much in his time in the league, and I do not know why he would be a young prospect you would want to help rebuild your team. Why would Minnesota be in this deal just so Denver gets more than they would in a sign and trade during the off-season? Well, hard to ever question David Kahn’s misuse of logic.

Think about this…the Knicks could potentially get Melo AND have a 1st round pick in this year’s draft

Just because Melo will be a part of the Knicks in no way makes them better than the Heat, Celtics, or Bulls. Melo is a pure scorer, and an okay defender, as well as a solid rebounder. However both the Knicks and Heat would suffer from a depth problem. But during the play offs, I would rather count on Heat’s bench than I would the Knicks. Lets wait and see, because Lebron plays all kinds of positions these days.

Amare and Melo are both poor defenders.  Sure they can score and their stats look great but both are less than average defenders.

I think New York only gets slightly better with Melo
