    Just a quick observation:

Every single player that was drafted in the first round last year that aren’t in Europe right now are rotation players on their team accept for Marcus Morris and Jimmy Butler. I find that interesting because last year’s draft was supposed to be the worst in years. So what do you think this means?

Is the talent level in the NBA at an all time low where all first round picks can not only make their squad, but even contribute?

Is the league so rich with star talent that its much easier to find role players to accomodate the stars?

Looking back, was the draft deeper than what we gave it credit for back in June?

Is it fair to say that 2 years from now, most of those guys will be replaced, so its probably to early to make a fair assessment?

Just curious to hear your thoughts on this year’s rookie class halfway thru the season

Well I wouldnt call Nolan Smith or Jajuan Johnson rotation players either, but you do have a good point. Many people thought that there was nobody good in the draft, but Irving, Brooks, Shumpert, Knight and others have proved them wrong so far.

With generally unknown players panning out and well known names doing more than expected, I’d say that the 2011 draft class was just severly underrated.

Isiah Thomas is out playing him and is starting right now. Jimmer can barely get off the bench atm. Coach Smart definitly likes Thomas speed and hustle over Jimmer.

I knew that the 2011 class wasnt as bad as people said because of its depth but I didnt realize that it would have such an immediate impact.

I still think that the 2012 class will be very good but it would help if PJIII turns things around since that add another viable top 10 talent.

Last year’s draft was not bad, it was just wrongly predicted. Kyrie Irving is a legit No.1 pick, he’s already surpassed John Wall who was thought to be a decent No.1 the year before. Now, Derrick Williams, Kanter, and Thompson are all pretty bad top 5 picks at this point. I dont know if Williams is just on the wrong team, or if he’s one of those athletes who just can’t put it together. But Knight, Walker, and Klay Thompson were all okay top 10 picks. Leonard, Vucevic, and Shumpert were all good mid wrong picks, Faried, Hamilton, and Cole were all nice finds in the late wrong, and Brooks (to me at least) is a nice steal in the late round. There was no reason a guy who can score, and you know he can score should have slipped behind the likes of the Morris twins and Tobias Harris.

I think the condensed schedule could play a part in the minutes these rookies are getting as well. With more games in fewer days coaches are probably looking to get those young legs out there more while giving veterans much needed resting time. Also, the condensed schedule contributed to the league wide injury issues which are also giving rookies more time. With that said, I will admit that I underrated this draft class as well.

In what world is Thompsn is bad top 5 pick. He is looking like an absolute best. He is a big time shot blocker and a monster on the offensive boards. For a 6’9 thin PF he shouldn’t be scoring and rebounding the way he has done.
