he looked decent tonight… had horrible stats (only 2 points) but i liked the way he handles the ball and makes plays. hes not scoring at all partly because of all the scoring type of players on that team- mainly barnes, henson, and zeller do you guys think he will have a chance to get drafted next year? or do u think he will never have an nba career

He should have a shot playing at a high profile school, and provided he continues to improve his decision making. He has good speed, hit guys with some nice dimes. But I don’t know if he brings anything above average to the table in terms of the nba. He has solid speed, ok athlete, but there just isn’t that factor where you watch him that stands out and say NBA. Unlike a guy like McCamey, you watch him and think, he could play at the next level and be able to contribute… Drew will have a shot though, very few thought Ish Smith would be a guy to crack a roster spot, but its all about what the player makes of the situation. If not the NBA, he def will play ball professionally though, he’s a solid player, and looks to be improving.

Drew isn’t even a good college point guard, that’s why UNC fans are always complaining about him. I would be shocked if he played in the NBA.

Larry Drew sucks. There is literally nothing he does that contributes at the college level. NOTHING. He is terrible, and a large part of why UNC was terrible last year. This is a dumb thread.

He is an ok shooter. He turns it over a ton. He’s kinda short, super soft, and very easily intimidated. Last year, there wasnt a player a fanbase hated more than Larry Drew. He tried to transfer to UCLA, USC and even frickin Pepperdine and nobody wanted him. I repeat. PEPPERDINE DID NOT WANT HIM.

He will get a shot though cuz of his daddy. Just like he always has. Cuz of daddy.

He’ll get looks in the NBA, via Summer League and possibly Portsmouth. His dad is an NBA head coach, so he’ll have contacts and he’ll be given a chance.

Larry Drew III has very solid quickness and nice handles, and he can create in the drive and dish in a half-court set, but he’s small and he can think too much on the court at times. He’s also not likely to score, and for all of his quickness and burst, he doesn’t really look very good in transition, which is weird. While he is a decent set shooter, I question his shooting and don’t think he’s going to be a very good shooter from NBA range. He’s a longshot, but it wouldn’t surprise me if he made a team. Drew has a bunch of similarities to Ish Smith, and could take a similar route to the NBA, depending of course on situational circumstance.

Yeah down the line he’ll get a shot. There is no way he’s coming out early and if he isn’t careful Kendall Marshall(who Roy loves) could sneak in and take that spot but people need to remember he did lead the ACC in assists last year. Hes got point guard instincts and terrific handles, the only question is with his confidence and learning to be more efficient. He does look to get guys involved but will often try too hard by forcing a pass when he could have gone for the shot. When hes at his best it’s not far-fetched to call him a potential pro, just needs to keep being more consistent and confident, which has two seasons to improve.

He is a homeless man’s Mike Conley is my eyes. I woudn’t be suprised if Kendall Marshall is starting midway through the year. He does have some solid attributes, but remember, he is a huge part of why they UNC was so awful last year….

Everyone played a role in UNC’s demise last year. I wouldn’t say his part was larger than anyone elses. Guys didn’t step up, Davis was an ok player, but not the high level superstar he needed to be and what scouts and other projected, neither was Thompson, a role player. Ginyard was horrible, couldn’t shoot Henson just wasn’t ready to contribute at this level yet. Zeller was hurt. It was a lot of diff things that played a role, not just Drew, who was underwhelming at times, but could’ve been better like the rest of them.
