halfdecayedParticipantAnother 1 year deal. At this point I think Magic just wants next year to be entertainment with all these knuckleheads signing.. Going to be alot of Shaqtin a fool appearances. Imma tune in to watch this lmao so this might be smart business by Magic. Not alot of risks anyway as its a 1 year deal.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantLaker to punch Lavar Ball first this season: Rondo, Supercool Beas, or the field. I mean, there is a good chance that this will be the first time since Jerry Stackhouse punched Christian Laettner that a player throwing a punch will actually improve this reputation.
Also, any word on whether Sheed is up for a comeback?

mowestenParticipantThrow in Meta Wolrd Peace and we’ll have a ball club.
I’m predicting that season is going to blow up in spectacular fashion for the Lakers. You have Superstar, bunch of young kids, a bunch of veteran clowns with a history of knuckleheaded play and suspect attitudes, and the craziest parent of all time who is willing to say or do anything for attention.
if I had to pick which one has the better chance of happening, the Atlanta Hawks make the Eastern Conference semifinals or the Lakers team as currently constructed doesn’t have a meltdown, I’m going with Hawks all day.

MopgrassParticipantFunny enough, they were chosen for their leadership. They have all been to the finals. They’ll get to the playoffs and show the young guys how to prepare for the playoffs, how to train, some skills, and get them ready to be without those veterans.
I see the logic. Still, there are so many knuckleheads, something will go wrong. I’m sure Magic told Walton (who was working so hard on culture… ask DRuss) to bear down for one year. Maybe LeBron can keep these guys in check. Or maybe Lance Stephenson bites someone’s ear off.
They won’t learn how to not smoke weed from Michael Beasley.
I think the real problem will come when the veterans outplay the young guys and still don’t get the playing time. That is the future car wreck. If LaVar steps too far out of line, new Lakers GM, LeBron James, will trade Lonzo.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantRondo can still play, and has embraced shepherding younger players. Fair enough, but if it isn’t going to be Hart and Wagner playing with the 2s, and it is JaVale, Lance, and Beas, then that added value is negated.
Lance and Beasley offer lightning in a bottle scoring potential off the bench, but you really only need one of them. Both also have the downside of going missing when the fit isn’t right.
JaVale seems as though he can really only play in 5-6 minute increments, and I am not so sure that Beasley, Kuzma, Wagner, Zubac, LeBron, and Deng will enjoy splitting the other 30 minutes dealing with Nurkic, Jokic, Towns, Gobert, Cousins (maybe if he gets right), Adams, Pau, Marc, Ayton, and Jordan.

Andv1 WaitingParticipantI don’t fully understand why they did this move at all..They have now officially got a log jam at almost every position…Creating some competition is good but man this is tettering on stupid…You are bound to have some unhappy players…
One year cap moves that makes sense.
Get players that have been to the finals/deep playoff runs that makes sense.
However getting players that don’t fit what culture and system you are trying to build doesn’t make any sense at all…
I am calling it now though GM Lebron will either be activated by the deadline or by next offseason at the latest lol…That and that he will recruit K-love to the Lakers next offseason lol.

dazeoneParticipantLebron wants the MVP and should get it with this team if they win 50. Cant wait to see this team implode and Luke Waltons days are numbered because Lebron will get acoach fired as well.. should be entertaining ..

Reptilian MonkParticipantthis narrative is already set up for Lebron to win Mvp. The media is claiming they are signing all these silly knuckleheads and they have no shooting, they didnt sign any shooters and the young Lakers players are just ok, and Lebron doesnt have a go to 2nd scorer. If they win 50+ games and get a top 3 seed in the West he should get Mvp

Ahkasi ClayParticipantLeBron is good enough by himself to get the lakers Back into tje playoffs (after half a decade).
But i cant see this Lakers team being good enough to get home court advantage in playoffs, cant wait to watch this team implode. Bets on the first Vet to call out Ingram as gay? (Not that there is anything wrong with that)

HitsterParticipantStrange they took all these interesting characters on and didn’t offer Randle even a one year deal.
If JaVale decides to go back to his knucklehead days then it could be fun. This is probably the most disfunctional line up since the Jailblazers or the 2004 Pacers. Maybe they trade for Z-Bo and he goes back to being old school and MWP makes a comeback.
We may joke about it but LBJ has to play with all this potential chaos!

Dog_ShammdogParticipantDidn’t see this one coming and don’t understand the signing from a team needs perspective, but Beasley’s talented and signed for cheap. I’m thinking he’ll get a lot of his minutes as a small ball 5 and I don’t hate that idea, but he’s just a bit of an awkward fit on the second unit. I’m also kind of surprised they brought in somebody who does so many of the same things as Mo Wagner because it sounded like they were planning on playing him quite a bit this season – not that Wagner can’t play next to beasley.
I do like some of the Lakers potential lineups though, including their potentially gigantic "small ball" lineup.
‘Small ball’ lineup: Ball (6’6"), Ingram (6’9"), Lebron (6’9"), Kuzma (6’9"), Beasley (6’10") or Play Lebron at the 5 and add Hart/Rondo/Stephenson/whoever.
big lineup (unlikely to be seen): Lebron, Ingram, Kuzma, Beasley, Wagner/Mcgee/Zub
I’m anxious to see how the rotations go early on in the season because it really is an interesting mix of talented two players with a bunch of young guys whose best ball is still ahead of them. It’s going to be a delicate balance for Luke to maintain with developing the young core and keeping the vets happy. LA’s going to need their young guys come playoffs and that means playing them during the regular season.
I also hope LA throws the kitchen sink at teams defensively. They have the size, length and versatility to run zones that’d make Jim Boeheim proud and also be one of the best man to man teams in the league with their ability to switch screens.

BeastMode716ParticipantJust watching Lebron exasperated facial expressions will be great fun
I think Magic understands he can’t give Lebron the help he needs until summer 2019 so let’s build a reality show on one year deals
I’m just so Happy we got Lebron I don’t care – I’ll be on a Lebron high for a full year
People forget that over the last 5 years the Lakers are the WORST team in the NBA in terms of Wins – we were dead last!
So we can’t be Greedy – we need to celebrate Lebron & enjoy a year that will be about growth & we are will Def be back in the playoffs!!! And for this year that is good enough for me 🙂

cohenbc1ParticipantWho do you think will lead the Lakers in assists? LeBron? Rondo? Ball?
