I see some old veteran(s) taking a paycut like malone and payton did to come and join the lakers….Something like the MLE for 1 year with a 2nd year player option…

For some reason, i see T-mac coming to the lakers after Houston decides to not re-sign him since he cant be their franchise player…. and T-mac being sick of losing, would come to the lakers to come off the bench and provide a scoring punch when kobe sits down…..That way he doesnt need to play 35-40 minutes a game and/or scre 25-30 points…and that way he wont get injured so often…

Dirk is also a possibility in the distant future (like 2014,2015) when he has no rings, and is sick of losing like T-mac and can come to lakers for a reduced role, and backup gasol….

Who else do you guys see comign to the lakers for the chance to win a Ring…

Mcrady is a possibility but i dount Dirk would come i think it would be more likely that he went with like Denver, or CLevaland, than in La where he would be a backup.

McGrady is unlikely because you dont have the MLE for 2 seasons and he wont play for Vet’s minimum

Lakers will end up with a veteran point guard who still has alittle left in the tank…. c. billups anyone???

and as for tmac i think he can still trick some team into giving him one more decent payday before the vet min….. and i know who exactly it is going to be in there search for two big NAME signings there going to make the mistake of picking up tmac when there options start running dry

I doubt you see any star players come to the Lakers at a huge discount like what happened with Malone and Payton any time soon. Those two guys were just trying to track down a ring, especially Payton who seemed to sign with every possible team that had a chance at the title. I think Shaq was the main reason they came in. Right now players only seem to want to give the Spurs and Celtics discounts.

Besides, I doubt many guys want to really play with Kobe outside of the Olympics. If anyone has noticed he plays with nothing but guys who are willing to defer to him. Ron Artest is going to be the first guy he’s played with since Shaq that is willing to shoot the ball without looking his way or thinking twice about it.
