    Jimmy Butler!

I am sure the Lakers are interested in Paul George and I am sure the Pacers front office has two very choice words for them as well. To me a guy that could be had and would be a very nice fit is Jimmy Butler!

Butler is one heck of a talent and it seems increasingly like he could be looking as well as benefit from a change of scenery all while helping the Bulls rebuild their roster. I think Butler would be well worth the Lakers pick if they hold onto it and Butler could come in and fit very nicely next to Russell and Randle, potentially meaning if Clarkson comes back he could come off the bench and I think be a true 6th man contender for a very long time. He is coming off consecutive 20ppg seasons and he is an elite wing defender.

word is that the Bulls told Boston that they would START talking at a top 2 pick, another first rounder and a first rounder next year. Plus a role player.

Basically the Bulls arn’t giving up Butler unless they completely wipe out the other teams future assets. Which seems fair since Butler is the 2nd best 2 way player in the NBA.

I’d still take Leonard, Green and George as two-way players I’d rather have.

Butler will be 27 next year I think he would be wasted in la. By the time their present and future picks develop into reliable players as far as playoff contenders Butler might be 30 or older.

Plus the main reason I responded to you is, Butler is a better dribble and Passer than leonard. He is a better scorer than green, plus green has curry and klay which gives him many easy assists, also George isn’t as good with overall shooting %. Still you have your own Lil opinion.

The pick alone is not nearly enough for Jimmy Butler. Jimmy Butler is the kind of player teams hope to be lucky enough to draft every year. Bulls would need the pick and AT LEAST either Russell, Randle, or Clarkson as well, and that’s probably be enough either.

I’m sure Clarkson could be part of the deal and Lakers wouldn’t be too upset with that. They could potentially through in Nance Jr as well.

Butler would go along way to getting a couple of decent FAs looking at LA.

If the Lakers get a top-2 pick, why would they trade that for Butler? Butler is good, but he’s at his ceiling. He’s 27 and already in his second contract. Would you take 2-3 years of this Butler, then a decling Butler or a minimum of 8 years from Ingram/Simmons?

I’m not even a Simmons fan and I’d rather have 8 years of him if I’m LA.

Seriously why are LA people so desperate? It’s honestly sad. Take the top pick and stop wishing to poach other team’s best players.

Laker fans and the whole Lakers organization is desperate and pathetic. They think they can just trade away their trash for the other teams best player and sign anyone they want. It’s led to a smugness and arrogance that makes the Lakers and their fanbase unbearable.

this is nothing new, ive been watching the lakers sense 1991 and we have been viewed by everyone else as smug elitist fans who think we can get other teams best players for as long as ive been watching and im sure well before then. Glad nothign has changed.

I hope the Lakers stay this way too. It’s resulted in them NOT winning championships and pretty much being garbage. But they deserve it…

Um. Not really. Lakers have won more championships than anyone since 2000.

Some things could work there, especially if Lakers take back huge salary amounts.  Although that would mean not signing a couple other big stars, but probably one would still fit.

Butler, Gibson, Dunleavy for the Lakers pick and Nance.

Bulls clear $28million, and playing time for McDermott, Mirotic and Portis.  With Kobe and Hibbert gone, Lakers have huge amounts of free money under tha cap.  Clarkson, Russell, Butler, Randle, a free agent center, Lakers get better.  Maybe assume Whiteside as the new center.

I don’t think any of this is likely, but if Butler for some reason is on the way out for the Bulls, a very high pick and some salary clearing could help the rebuild.  Another idea, keeping the pick and signing DeRozan might help the Lakers more.

The Bulls aren’t going to give up their best player for anything short of an exceptional package before we even start thinking about the issues of two powerhouses doing a trade. The Bulls are probably much more win now than the Lakers will be for a few years.

Plus if the Bulls do rebuild in a year or so’s time then I’d figure Butler would be the cornerstone of that plan.

Jimmy is only 26 and hasn’t many miles on the clock compared to other guysa his age either and the Bulls have him under guaranteed contract for the next 3 seasons so there is no chance of him bolting via FA soon which also increases his trade value.

Every player has a trade price apart from maybe the elite top 5 or 6 guys who no GM would really want to trade unless their contract was running down or they were unsettled. But the Chicago Front Office is very sound so it would need a huge deal for them to consider moving Butler.
