In this very early stage of the season LA seems like the team playing the best basketball while dominating rivals by 15 pts and recording a 6-1 start. I know they usually underperform during the playoffs but this team feels and look different do you guys think is the season they live up to their potential?

This success isn’t sustainable for 82 games plus a playoff game…

They will perform very well during the regular season only to have a subpar performance in the playoffs because of a bad match up and some team playing Hack a Jordan

CP3, Blake Show and DJ all have to stay healthy for the rest of the season, 1 injury to their core and this early season success could come crashing down, I’m super happy for them and I hope somebody can knock off GS in the playoffs, just don’t know if that team is The Clippers

The Clippers are really getting after it on the defensive end, which has created a lot of extra possessions.. Having Chris Paul obviously helps converting these extra possessions into points. I believe they can continue playing tough defense its just a matter of these guys not burning out..

The improvements to their bench scoring and depth is making a world of difference. Speights in particular

Speights has been huge for the Clippers. They need to give him more minutes to save Blake for the playoffs.

Felton, Rivers, Crawford, Speights, Johnson, Bass is a nice group of veterans off the bench

They still lack a 3.. Mbah a Moute won’t cut it offensively for them in the playoffs IMO

It is early, and the regular season.

Is Marreese Speights really going to give them 15 minutes of Paul Millsap off the bench all year and in the playoffs? In is undeniable that Speights and Bass are upgrades over Aldrich, but will they hold up?

Raymond Felton has always been solid when he is in shape and focused, so far that is the case. It would be an absolute steal if he stays healthy and all year. In a summer where every 20-something bum got $10-$20 million per, Felton and Bass are at $1.55 million. Speights is at $1.40 million. Mbah a Moute is at $2.20 million.

Mbah a Moute and DeAndre Jordan are limited in their offensive contributions, and for now that is fine. So long as Jordan is shooting 34.5% from the line, you can be assured that he will be forced to take more than 3.6 of them per game in the playoffs. If they take him out, then it is on Marreese Millsap. We won’t know how that plays in games that matters until later in the year. It is possible Pop will give a us a preview the next time they play. Clearly Jordan shooting zero free throws like he did on Saturday will be unacceptable.

On the plus side, Jamal Crawford will start making shots. Paul Pierce isn’t around for an 82-game season, but will contribute at a later date. Wes Johnson, even for his Wes Johnson limitations, will not finish the season as a 33 percent shooter.

is how Blake is really being allowed to push the ball in transition.  Blake’s best skill might be his playmaking.  He is amazing facing the basket in half or full-court situations.  He is fast and nimble.  He can pass leading a break or in the half court.  The ability to have him run the break off of a rebound takes a ton of pressure off Paul and allows Blake to be more engaged.  That is translating to better defense.

Plus, putting him in the Draymond green role offensively is actually better than Dremond green I think!   Reddick is clearly benefitting from it.  If you have blake bearing down and Reddick and Paul on the wings spotting up with Jordon trailing, that is a pretty formidable break.

I think they will give GS fits.  IF they are all healthy.  I have never been a Clippers believer until this year.  Count me as one very skeptical of GS ability to rebound and defend and very bullish on the Clippers to rebound the heck out of the ball vs GS and score with them.

For me what changed it all was Griffin handling the ball more in a Dreymond Green  role.

Universal Law of professional sports – a team can NOT Triple an existing Strength

The KD signing has weakened the Warriors bench & interior & will ultimatey render Klay Thompson the odd man out

Teams w/ a young nucleus: Bucks, Lakers, T-Wolves, 76ers should be working to get Klay’s ear b/c he will leave GSW is 2 years

They need another wing scorer or they will be exposed in the playoffs with mbah moute sitting in the corner being ignored by defenses
