 Is anyone else surprised that Kyrie’s career high in assists is just 13 and it took him this long to get it…

 I noticed that.  Kind of low for a career high.  I bet Marc Gasol and Boris Diaw have career highs close to that…

Then again, he doesn’t really gun for cheap assists like Rajon Rondo.

But, he is also playing with LeBron James who dominates the ball an usually winds up leading the team in assists.

Wonder if any of LeBron’s teammates has had more than 13 assists in any game…

I would guess that Kyrie Irving has the record — or very close to it.  

I could see Kyrie Irving having lots of hockey assists during LeBron’s Return.  He passes it to LeBron who then immediately passes it to someone for a dunk or an open 3.

13 is probably up there for some other top flight point guards like Mike Conley (dribbles the air out of the ball or calls his own number much of the time), Tony Parker, and Derrick Rose.

lilliard got 14,his career high a few days ago ..mike conley career high is 15..its rare to see conley reach double digits in assts in gms…

 It was 15 for Lillard , I’m more surprised that Conley only has a high of 15 considering he is classed as a true point guard where Lillard and Kyrie aren’t.

Not that surprising on Conley. Slow pace for most of his career and MEM runs a lot of offense through their bigs as well, not as much opportunity for assists. He gets people the ball in their spots like a true point though

Not really, just because he’s not a good enough playmaker to rack up assists on bad teams like he was on his first few years, and now with Lebron all he really needs to do is score

 Yeah, I guess getting 13 assists on a LeBron-dominated team would be like getting 17 or 18 assists on a regular team.

Wish they WOULD keep track of "hockey assists" though.  I would assume that the teams with the most hockey assists outperform the other teams.

 kyrie’s a very good player and his syle of play compliments lebron very well….but to me it seems as though he havent improved his game as much as some other great players do during their careers..his assists totals are about the same pre lebron as with lebron.

 At this point we know the type of player he is. Scoring PG that can get you 4-5 apg. And since Lebron came back, he does more of the facilating. So no I’m not surprised.

 I’m not that surprised that Kyrie’s numbers are fairly low as LBJ is a ball dominant player – LBJ is 3rd on current active players assist list – he is 600 ahead of Tony Parker who has been in the NBA 2 years longer than LBJ and has played point on a powerhouse team all that time.

Kyrie is a 5.5 career APG player so he puts up decent numbers in that department so must have a lot of games in that range.

Mike Conley’s average is only 5.62apg so he’s only a fraction ahead of Kyrie. Kyle Lowry is only 5.7apg but he was a bench player for the first 5 or so years of his career so that drags his average down a bit.
