nbaretroParticipantI think if the Detroit Pistons get the 1st pick, they should really look to taking Kyrie Irving. Here’s why:
In this golden era of point guards, you need to have a great point guard. The Pistons have tons of players who benefit better with a point guard next to them ( Austin Daye, Richard Hamilton) and could benefit with him, wins wise. I also believe that the Pistons should look towards adding another big man but NOT in the draft. I really think they should look at maybe Kevin Love to fix the rebounding problem.
What do you think? I understand Barnes might be the better player but Irving might fill more of a need.

cap777ParticipantIt’s way to early to say anything about the draft yet. And you haven’t even seen Irving play a college game yet.

gregoden08ParticipantHonestly, I think you take Barnes if you’re the pistons. Stuckey might not be a pure pg, but he causes match up problems for a lot of teams. Barnes is such a complete player I’m not sure if you can pass up the BPA.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantIf a team is bad enough to get the number one pick, they can’t be thinking short-term positional need.

sayounhParticipantI dont know how the Pistons would get Love. They don’t have a lot of great tradable assets and I think, with the huge Ben Gordon and Villanueva contracts coupled with the fact that they’ll probably re-sign either Tayshuan Prince or Rodney Stuckey, they don’t have enough cap to sign him when his rookie contract expires.
