RUDEBOY_ParticipantOn friday guard Kyle Lowry told a Houston newspaper that he dont think him or Goran Dragic will both return next season..And that he wants to be moved if Kevin McHale is the coach…I honestly think things will be tough ..Things have to be addressed..McHale responded by telling the paper ‘he was surprised to hear that, becuz he didnt think they had too much of a problem coexisting this year…Everybody has a little beef every now and then,i didnt think we had problems, but apparently he did..There were times when i got on him,but i didnt think it was harsh ,thats a coaches job to try to get the best out of his players…
The rift between McHale and Lowry was most visibly during a game in april againt Denver when they argued during a timeout..McHale grabbed Lowry and pulled him toward the huddle…
Last season Lowry had his best game as a pro averaging 14 pts and 6 asts in 47 games….

JunkYardDogParticipantDidn’t know this issue between mchale and his talented point guards…
Why not trading both (S&T for dragic), martin and scola and build around what they can get in return and their 2 1st round picks… And we’ll soon ear the names of gasol or bynum here…

omphalosParticipantHonestly, I’d keep McHale, trade Lowry, hold onto Dragic and stick with your coach. McHale took a Rockets team with no business being in the playoffs to the brink of making the post-season and this is with injuries to key players to boot.
Lowry had a nice year and all, but he remains an undersized PG who gets by on hustle and grit, and there are plenty of those around.
The Rockets need to send a message that the coaches are the ones in charge, not the players.

rhamnlacsonParticipantid keep Mchale more tha lowry if i were the owner of the rockets we would already have dragich, luis scola, montiejunas and kevin martin as oiur starting line up lowry would be better off on another team(bobcats)

JunkYardDogParticipantI would keep this core of young men : they need to extend lee and dragic (6-7 M each) and deal lowry (he’s a little bit a headcase in my mind).
Patterson PF
Morris PF/SF
Parsons SF/PF
Budinger SF/SG
Lee SG
Dragic PG
I rarely saw such an amount of young promising, complementary kids (most of them only need playing time and confidence to succeed)… and they already got rid of flynn, hill and williams… who could have been usefull.
They have 2 first round picks : 14 and 16
at 14 : they should try to get zeller or leonard (to have a young center to devevelop)
at 16 : ross, marshall or lillard… to
They only have to get some veteran to help them grow. Lowry has great value, scola, martin and dalembert still can be dealt… They also can keep Camby to help leonard or zeller.

sammybuckeye13ParticipantIf they actually do try to trade him I would love for the Jazz to try to take a shot at him, all that’s missing from their future is long-term answer at the point and Lowry would give them that.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 05/26/2012 - 3:04am #673982
benny15ParticipantUtah would be a good place for him, as would Portland. Wouldnt mind seeing him in New Orleans either or even Dallas. i really think the package for Gasol would likely be revisited since they really want him. Last year Houston was very hesistant in parting with Lowry in a package, but this does put a spin into things. Kyle is very easy to trade due to his play and contract, only question is if the rockets would get equal value back for whatever deal they do.

rhamnlacsonParticipanti think they should release the vets ang get guys that are younger
pg-goran dragich
sg-kevin martin
sf-lee
pf-luis scola
center-donatas motiejunas
have camby’s contract on amnesty and lowry just let the guy go and keep Mchale the salaries
and get a gerald wallace on the fa to have a vet sf aside from lee who i still think should be a 6th man
and if they could get lamb on that slot get the guy pls the rockets need star power
0 - Posted on: Sat, 05/26/2012 - 4:01am #673985
SpacegrassParticipantHe does realize he is just Kyle Lowry? Talking like that to people with power will get you out of the league sooner than you think Kyle , you are not a superstar nor an allstar.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 05/26/2012 - 4:47am #673989

Counting StarsParticipantThere was a time when you had to be a star to be this brash. I like Lowry’s game, but he’s no star.
And I don’t know about him going to Utah. They’ve already had one point guard butt heads with a coach and that didn’t end well for anyone. Maybe Ty Corbin, but that’s about it. (Unless the Bobcats or Magic land Jerry Sloan.)
0 - Posted on: Sat, 05/26/2012 - 5:05am #673990

omphalosParticipantPortland would be a solid landing spot for Lowry, they are disappointed with Felton, and Lowry would immediately take the starting spot, plus they have pieces to offer, and Portland/Houston have been trade friendly before.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 05/26/2012 - 5:18am #673992

rickybobbyParticipantI thought Lowry and McHale would have been a perfect match with both of those guys toughness. If they decide to trade him they should try to get a Young Big or draft picks. Portland has two lottery picks and need a pg so maybe we could get one of those picks. What ever they do it should be looking to build with the younger talent they have.

PrecociousNeophyteParticipantFirst it was Aaron Brooks and now Lowry. Goran Dragic watch out someone is going to take your spot next.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 05/26/2012 - 6:53am #674005

JunkYardDogParticipant"Kyle Lowry for Favors or Kanter or Jefferson. makes sense for both teams"
– utah will NEVER trade favors (the centerpiece of deron williams trade) to get lowry.
– utah won’t give up so easily on kanter : the only true center of their roster and a former n°3 (wait for another couple of years)
– it doesn’t make any sense for the rockets to get another pf (jefferson) whereas the already have in their roster :
an effective veteran scola (pf), a promising prospect patterson (pf), an underuse morris (pf/sf) and a new rookie motiejunas (pf)
– I really don’t see minny / houston / denver / utah dealing together whereas they are almost in the same "zone" and in the same conference. As I don’t see phila and indiana dealing together.
If lowry is dealt, the rockets should try to get size (a true center) or make a package with scola/martin/dalembert/picks… to get a proven player (…gasol…?)
0- Posted on: Sat, 05/26/2012 - 6:56am #674008

FearTheStacheParticipantJefferson plays Center a majority of the time…I will admit that Favors might have been a little far-fetched as he is so valuable, you must acknowledge that Utah knows that all they need is a top notch PG, which Lowry is quickly becoming. So, with that in mind, I think Utah would definitely consider trading Jefferson or Kanter, probs Kanter, for Lowry

del90Participant - Posted on: Sat, 05/26/2012 - 7:20am #674015

JunkYardDogParticipantjefferson plays center cause utah doesn’t have a center to start (kanter is too young but he should become a nice starter). I hear you and agree utah needs a pg : but to make a deal you’ve got to be 2 to have an interest in.
Houston doesn’t have any interest to trade lowry to utah if they are not sure they can extend dragic (that’s to say match up a possible large offer from portland, phoenix…) and they can’t get something usefull in return (jefferson is not what they need).
Kanter would be the best attractive offer from utah (maybe with another pick). But I don’t think utah wants to trade him and I don’t think houston wants to add some other young prospects : they already got rid of jordan hill, thabeet, flynn, williams as soon as they found their rotation.
Moreover houston has 2 1st round picks and motiejunas coming from europe… I really think houston just want to trade several players and maybe picks to get 1 big name.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 05/26/2012 - 7:25am #674016

Tobe BryantParticipantRockets should trade Kyle Lowry, Louis Scola and Kevin Martin for Gasol, Steve Blake and Josh McRoberts.
Rockets get their big, an athletic PF and backup to Gragic.
Lakers get a GREAT backup to Kobe, a solid PG and a hard nosed forward in Scola.
STILL won’t make them a contender!
0 - Posted on: Sat, 05/26/2012 - 7:45am #674019

JunkYardDogParticipantI really see such a trade happen during the next month…
The lakers want to make moves (gasol is underrated and underused in LA) and the rockets have lots of assets (young propsects, veterans, draft picks).
0 - Posted on: Sat, 05/26/2012 - 7:48am #674020

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantSign and trade Lowry and Scola for Gasol, resign Camby for a season (for cheap), resign Dragic to a 4 year deal.
Dragic
Martin – Lee
Parsons – Budinger
Gasol – Patterson
Camby – MotiejunasNot a bad playoff team.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 05/26/2012 - 8:04am #674022

JunkYardDogParticipantsign and trade …? lowry as scola are already under contract.
Extend Dragic and Lee
Trade : lowry scola and dalembert for gasol and blake
Draft : Leonard or zeller and then a combo waiters or wrotten
Dragic Blake Waiters/Wrotten (2nd pick)
Martin Lee
Parsons Budinger
Patterson Motiejunas Morris
Gasol Camby Leonard/Zeller (1st pick)
0 - Posted on: Sat, 05/26/2012 - 9:17am #674028

rickybobbyParticipantGasol is good but he he’s 31 soon to be 32 with declining skills. Houston doesnt need that. It’s just putting them back in the same situation they are in now, a fringed playoff team. I wouldnt mind them going after some young players like Tyreke Evans or Eric Gordon. But Houston could be in a tough spot if Dragic doesnt resign with them.

kobyzParticipanti like the idea of Lowry to Utah, Lowry for Alec Burks and Earl Watson should be fair

surveParticipant"He does realize he is just Kyle Lowry? Talking like that to people with power will get you out of the league sooner than you think Kyle , you are not a superstar nor an allstar."
Especially to McHale. Just ask Rashad McCants.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 05/26/2012 - 12:36pm #674058

surveParticipantyou know, thats not a bad trade and I am not so sure it wouldnt make the Lakers a contender. Scola could be the perfect compliment to Bynum (or Howard if he lands there). Lowry brings that toughness back to the PG spot that Fish vacated. This is especially important because it is unsure what they will do in regards to Sessions. I like Sessions, but I am still not sure the Lakers is a great fit for him, he definitely is not best suited in the starting lineup for them. Martin could be a big addition….there is a guy who can take a lot of pressure off of Kobe and can play behind him or with him.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 05/26/2012 - 3:05pm #674076

HitsterParticipantWith Portland holding the 11th pick a deal of Lowry and 14th or 16th pick could be on the cards. Also if the GSW pick falls to Utah, GSW are apparently going to try to get it back and if Utah could get a competing deal on the table they might extract more from GSW or consider something like 8th/9th and Raja Bell for Lowry and 14th
0 - Posted on: Sat, 05/26/2012 - 3:29pm #674082
capshati23ParticipantKyle lowry was actually in allstar consideration before he got hurt i think hes mad more so because when he got hurt and then came back kevin mchale wouldnt give him his starting spot back in his eyes i think he felt that was prolly unloyal of kevin
0 - Posted on: Sat, 05/26/2012 - 3:51pm #674084

iguapops420ParticipantI’ve been thinking about a deal involving Houston actually before this of Gasol/Blake for Martin,Scola,Parsons,Camby,#16, and the rights to Motiejunas. LAL would then surround the starters with shooters off the bench. Then it could allow Utah to deal Dragic(S&T) for Big Al and CJ Miles(S&T).
AL/Dalembert
Gasol/Patterson
Budinger/Morris
Lee/Miles
Lowry/Blake
——————————I could actually see that team doing pretty good. Gasol and Big al would be able to dominate the ball a lot more and bring the best out of each other as each can post up or step and and space the floor for the other.
At this point though, if you’re LAL and there is this much drama with Lowry, then his value won’t be as high as it was midseason and you could potentially pull Lowry,Martin,Scola,Camby for Gasol/Blake. But I would sincerely like to get Parsons back in any deal with Houston. I’d even almost be willing to take him instead of Scola.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 05/26/2012 - 5:29pm #674100

bloodshyParticipant1. CJ Miles is a UFA.
2. Dragic is a UFA.
3. Neither player is close to maxing the cap, so a S&A for either player is far from critical.
4. Why on earth would the Jazz trade a 19/9 C for a promising pg w/only about 20 starts to speak of, especially considering they could pick him up straight off the market w/o giving anything?
0 - Posted on: Sat, 05/26/2012 - 6:50pm #674105
draft2017Participanttheres a chance orlando will take a shot, the rockets are looking for a franchise center piece and in a article i seen they said houston really want to get dwight, so we’ll see
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/27/2012 - 4:45pm #674318

iguapops420ParticipantSomeone will pay Dragic more than I personally think he deserves. Big Al,IMO, is as good as gone anyways. They may have made playoffs, but they will eventually have to shed Al or Paul to make more room for their youth. CJ was simply to help fill a need for Hou as they make a playoffs push bringing bench scoring.
Not to mention that in those 20 starts, Dragic was a 20-10 pg. He’s going to get AT LEAST 7-8 mil a year. Possibly more. If Jeremy Lin caused the whole world to go crazy over som 10-15 great games and around 20 starts while fading around the end, whats the difference in Dragic doing it when he never started to show signs of fading towards the end. Hell, I’m not even a Dragic fan, was even quoted when he first got to start as saying I didn’t think he was much more than a good backup.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 05/28/2012 - 9:13am #674420

SmooveKRYPTParticipantI’d make a big run at Dwight. Dalembert & Martin (both expiring after next yr at close to $20 mil combined), Lowry, Parsons (FL guy), Patterson, and S&T Lee who Orlando has wanted back since they traded him after his rookie year plus both 1st rounders for Dwight & take on Hedo’s contract and 1 more guy they want to dump (probably Duhon or Q). Would give Orlando young talent in Lowry, Patterson, & Parsons. Plus major cap space next summer when guys like Harden, Josh Smith, Al Jefferson, Tyreke, Ty Lawson, Bynum & possibly Monta & CP3 are free agents.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 05/28/2012 - 10:45am #674447

JNixonParticipantI’d let Lowry walk and draft a backup PG for Dragic. Lowry is a slightly above average PG, he can be replaced and Dragic’s play proved that it can be done in-house.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 05/28/2012 - 3:37pm #674520

iguapops420Participant^^^Not to mention they still have Sergio Lull waiting to come over and if they have proven anything in Houston, it’s that they can develop backup pg’s as good as the starters. I’d still look to deal him though, a player like Gasol genuinely would be attainable using him IMO.
