Either there is some serious tampering going on between the Heat and Kyle Lowry… or we can chalk it up to more bogus reporting by Ric Bucher.  I think I am going with the latter.

I think a player like Gortat is more along the lines of what they need.  An upgrade at PG doesn’t seem as important considering that player will hardly ever have the ball in their hands.  Someone to rebound and protect the paint would be more beneficial to them, and Gortat could probably be had around the same price.  But I don’t think the Wiz would be willing to do a sign and trade which is most likely what it would require.

Because Tony Parker didn’t exactly kill Chalmers…  Also, Mario was the hero over the years, so one bad playoffs exed him out forever?

Gortat is a UFA right? Do they need to do a sign and trade?

If this is true, What are the Raptors doing? You just got a career season from Kyle Lowry, and now you trade him to the Heat for a backup PG in Norris Cole and future draft picks? I thought Lowry wanted to stay a Raptor for life? Okay, I understand him wanting to go to the Heat to win, but didn’t the Heat just pick up Shabazz Napier, who Lebron wanted all along, yesterday in the draft? Okay, Lowry starts, and Napier is his great backup. But again what does this leave the Raptors with for next year? Cole, a good BACKUP PG. What the heck! Now they have 2 backup PG’s in Vazquez and Cole. And one is expected to leave in the offseason. And as far I know they didn’t select a PG in the draft yesterday. If I were a Raptors fan, I would not be very happy right now.

Masai Ujiri is smarter than this. This report is false, and just made up from some beat writer and Heat fan. Ujiri would never make this trade. Just re-sign Lowry, I think the Raptors have the cap space to do so.

I’m not really sure what the point of drafting Napier was if this report is true

    Seems far-fetched for several reasons

    1. The Heat will pursue Melo first. If they cannot get him, then they will go to plan B, but they haven’t even been able to start with Melo yet. If the Heat get Lowry, they would be out of the Melo race, unless all four stars are willing to take like 9-10 million a year.

    2. They just drafted Napier.

    3. Lowry is a player who is best with the ball in his hands. I know they want to upgrade the point guard position, but he is not exactly the type of player who has ever played off other stars well.

    4. Cole plus draft picks is not enough for Kyle Lowry. The Heat can only offer late first round draft picks for Lowry. Are they really willing to mortgage to give up multiple first round picks? Also, Cole is not a starting guard in the NBA.

    5.  This is from Bleacher Report.

The Heat need to upgrade their bigs.  They are so old right now with Bosh, Haslem, Anderson, Lewis etc.  Gortat, or even a guy like Pau Gasol (if he leaves L.A.) would help them out immensely.

This is totally a wild guess but… could be Toronto trying to lower his market value? The Heat can’t offer him a huge contract might lower Lowry’s expectations of what his salary might be.

Zero chance he goes to the Heat.  First off, he’s going to get an expensive contract.  Miami doesn’t have the money that he will want.  Plus, they traded for Napier for a reason.  Bleacher report…lmao
