It is really too bad that we won’t ever see Lebron vs Kobe in the finals.

They’ll probably be worse next year. Nash and Gasol will be another year older. Dwight probably won’t be back in L.A. And I don’t think Kobe can average 35 PPG again

I wish they had faced eachother in like 08 or 09. It would’ve been the most watched finals ever.

The real problem is…Kobe is like way older than Bron. Kobe’s prime started with him being the 2nd best player on his team, and then, at his absolute peak he was playing with garbage players. Then, in 08-10, when he was still play at that level (Well, he was in 08, by 2010 he was a tiny notch down, in my opinion) Lebron/his team kept choking in the big games. Now Lebron’s hit his prime and Kobe’s has ended. Between Durant, Rose, Irving and some others, we have plenty of great opponents for LBJ to face from this point on.

Where did I say today? When Durant was 20…the Thunder still sucked…but we saw that he had it in him to become a player of this calibur. I see the same thing with Irving. He looks just as good as Rose did his first two years in the league. When talking about the next 5-10 years, I see no reason leaving him out of the discussion. He is one of the top 5 most untradeable players in the league, and is 20 years old, already an all star, already averaging 24 PPG. Outside Rose and Durant, name one other player more likely to ascend to that truly superstar level in the next 5 years….

Two things that we were deprived of in terms of Lebrons career:

1.)Lebron and Kobe never meeting in the finals
2.)Lebron never being in the dunk contest

Personally I’m really hoping we get a better Melo vs Lebron series. The Knicks weren’t ready for the big-time last season, but they are playing great at the moment, and Melo always plays well against Lebron, so if everyone stays healthy a Knicks-Heat series could be an epic clash between two brilliant SFs.

I know no one wants to hear this but I’m waiting for that moment in June in the 4th quarter of Game 6 after Tim Duncan makes another clutch shot with 5 minutes left in the 4th to give the Spurs a 3 point lead over the Heat while leading the series 3-2, and then they zero in on a blank faced Tim Duncan while Stephen Jackson pats him on the head, I know it’s gong to happen.

Over the next 5 years, I’m hoping that:

    A. We get as many Heat/Bulls series as possible

    B. Indiana actually gets a ‘star’ player, so they can be in the ring to beat the Heat, not just “give them a tough series”

    C. At least one more Durant vs LBJ finals

    D. One Clippers finals

    E. One Bulls finals run
