CAROLINA BLUE NICKParticipantDamn, Damn, Damn! Do you guys think Dwight can show that he can carry this team into the playoffs? Or do you think its a wrap for the Lakers?

IndianaBasketballParticipantSh*t with the way Kobe shot tonight and the game tying shot he missed, he should be out indefinitely.
But I’m not buying this though. Kobe walked off on his own. He’ll live on the training table and be ready to play Fri vs the Pacers. I’ll be at the game, so I’ll be salty if he doesn’t play. This will all just make the story lines interesting when he goes off for 40 lol.

For_Never_EverParticipantWhat happened to Kobe ?

White ChocolateParticipantThe way Utah has been playing lately, the Lakers will still make the playoffs. Knowing Kobe he will fight through the pain if he can.

Sotos14ParticipantSo basically he will be starting next game. #BlackMamba

arctuk02ParticipantKobe said that this is his worst ankle sprain since 2000 NBA FInals, when he thought Jalen Rose purposely went under him.

scliddiardParticipantI’m a Jazz fan but the way they have been playing I’m not sure they can beat the Lakers back and secure a playoff spot even if Koby is out for a while. Corbin plays the vets too much and starting the 3rd quarter lately has been a major problem. Kanter , Burks, Favors and Hayward have been playing well lately but Corbin doesn’t seem to trust them. We (the Jazz) need a point guard that can create for his teammates, Mo just doesn’t cut it.

BigChamp12ParticipantI think Kobe will be fine. He walked off on his own and didnt look to be in unbearable pain. Im not too worried about his health, he’s tough and will want want to play against Indiana..,
On the other note: Kobe was atrocius tonight. 11-33 ! He gave them a spark in the 3rd qtr, but he cant go back to shooting 30 shots in a game. Not a key to success for that team. He wasnt the reason they lost but he shot them out of the game.I think he started going to Isos too early. IT was a 1 or two possession game early in the 4th qtr. Too early to be going into hero mode. Shouldve let Nash and Dwight get some more touches while the game was close. Dwight only got 2 shot attempts in the second half. He was 5/9 from the field. Kobe’s been struggling from the field the last 3 games, but I’m sure Friday on a bum ankle he’ll come outta that slump.

aamir543ParticipantIndefinitely?……………So this really means he’s probable for Friday, right?

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantIt’s Kobe, he won’t miss a game, especially right now.

For_Never_EverParticipantDwight better start playing to his full capability if Kobe doesn’t even miss a game. Because it will send a message that he is 3 times the man he is.

Chilbert arenasParticipantKobe won’t miss a game, he walked off the floor putting weight on his ankle. I’m sure many of you have had bad ankle sprains, and I’ve had a grade 3 ankle sprain and couldn’t fit my foot in a shoe for three weeks, and I couldn’t take one step with it or even put pressure on it for a week. If he’s walking off he’ll be fine, he’s kobe.

benny15ParticipantIf i were a laker fan, i wouldnt be worried at all. in fact, i might even be looking at this as a blessing in disguise. if Kobe sits out, then that means Meeks will start and the ball will go back to Nash’s hands. their defense would have gotten significantly weaker, but so what. their system isnt meant to stop you from scoring buckets, its meant to outscore you. im expecting a lot of catch and shoot from down town as well as pick and rolls. and more than anything, it could keep everyone on this team happy because they know they will get their shots.
this injury couldnt be more timely for the lakers to rest Kobe for the play-offs since it seems like Utah wont be getting in.

CAROLINA BLUE NICKParticipantYou guys have given some good points. Plus Kobe is a warrior so I shouldn’t doubt his ability to play through pain. I just know Kobe is no spring chicken anymore lol. And guys are going to take it to Kobe and test that ankle. Plus even though the Lakers have been winning they have barely won against non playoff teams. They should have blown out the Magic and the Hornets if they expect to advance in the playoffs against far better competition. The Raptors are playing better ball now but they still won’t make the playoffs and it took them overtime and some hero ball from Kobe to beat them. I’m just not sure if they are content with making the playoffs and thats it, or do they actually believe that they can be a threat come playoff time.
