first time i think you’ve been warranted in your obsession with melo… he might win, doubt it though… Melo is so strong, Kobe is SO talented

This would be an awesome game of 1 on 1. I think which ever player gets hot is who will win. As much as I love Melo though, I gotta give the upper hand to Kobe.

I would go with Kobe, but Melo would make him work real hard. If they played 10 times Melo would win a few.

I think right now Melo would win handily. Melo has a knack that scoring the few if any in today’s game have. Just a nose for the basket. In his prime Kobe could compete with a bigger stronger player 1 on 1 because of his elite athleticism, but he’s lost at least a step. Melo is in his athletic prime (although the injury didn’t help) and is an extremely physical player, so he’d take advantage of every pound and inch he has on Kobe. In any level of basketball the superior player can be beaten by the physically dominant 1 on 1. Fortunately, basketball is a 5 on 5 game, and Kobe is twice the player Melo dreams of being. It would definitely be interesting to watch.

However it could be a good match up now. Take Kobe over ANYONE EVER from 02 til 07 without a doubt.

one on one he can do whatever he wants. Plus he would do a better job defensively then Melo could. And you can’t count out his competiveness in a one on one situation.

Kobe wouldnt let anyone beat him one-on-one. He’s too competitive, he would turn his game up a bunch of notches if he felt he was in danger of losing.

kobe..and no he didnt have kobe on lock during the game..he played very good d at moments on kobe dont get moments twisted with the whole game..its easier to check kobe when you have jones checking him most of the game and hacking him while melo can rest on d checking ariza then switch onto a lil worn down kobe once jones subs out of fouls out…but make no mistake you put melo on kobe for a whole game and kobe eats him up and in the process melo doesnt score as much because he wastes so much energy on kobe
