aamir543ParticipantGreat game thus far, JR Smith is 2-3 from three, Lin has 5 and 3, but JR was a huge addition, he will help them in many ways but mostly in threes and spreading the floor. And if Lin continues to play like this and Anthony fits into their offense, this is one scary team.
The Mavs are hitting their groove, they move without the ball and play great defense, all of their guys other than Nowitzki are each shooting below 46% from the field, which means if they figure it out, than they may have another run in them.

tuck243ParticipantI would like to see him at point more…
Another thing that I’m starting to realize Jermey Lin isn’t an instinct player… He knows EXACTLY what he’s going to do before he does it… I would like to see him pass more as well… I don’t know how many times I’ve seen him take a contested shot when a dump off pass is right there… I think that’s major when Melo gets back because of easy points… He need to defer more because instead of 8 assists he could really have 15 right now… He has 20 points by the 3rd that’s too much for him… But no doubt in my mind he will get it… The best thing I like about him is he’s playing D and he realize he needs to continue this… That Melo, Stat, Tyson, and now JR are going to make him better… Very humble kid… The fall can be just as fast as the rise…

juves4783Participanti was just about to post something similar. ever since lin hit the map, novak has been on a roll too. novak has really picked up the slack when shawne williams left. cheers to the knicks for picking up those 2 guys for cheap.

aamir543ParticipantCompletly agree Tuck, the Knicks are rolling with Lin being a scorer, If he assumed more of a facilitator role, It may be better for htem, but as long as Anthony is out, they need him to score.
When Anthony comes back I would like for him to be more of an assists guy, but he did end up getting 14, while scoring 28. This kid is for real, and he’ll be in teh league for a long time.

HadzialijagicParticipantthey have a TON of depth in the backcourt(im including SF). They have Lin Fields and Melo Starting once melo gets back. Their bench will consist of Davis, Bibby, Douglas, Shumpert, Smith, Walker and Novak. At least 2 of these guys are gonna have to be left off the rotation. I think they should try and swing one of these guys for a big body at backup center. They will need another defensive big because if Chandler gets in foul trouble they could get exposed on the defensive end.

SwatLakeCityParticipantKnicks said they would only play JR tonight if they needed. Well, I guess they needed him. Who would have thought that he would have got 29 minutes in his first game back in the NBA? He hasn’t even practiced with the Knicks yet!
15 pts, 3 boards, and 3 threes all in 29 minutes!

aamir543Participant^Well, 16 shots in less than 30 minutes is a feat in itself, lol, and he was 6-16, but still not a bad performance, once he gets more in the rythem of the offense, he’ll play better, but man Novak was wet today.

sheltwon3ParticipantKnicks need another playmaker because Lin can not keep on playing 45 minutes or so.

aamir543Participant^Does Baron Davis count as a playmaker on the court, or will stick to it in the kitchen. I swear, he looks like he’s at least 270 walking around on those sidlines.

kaceyParticipantHas anyone pointed out that Novak and Lin were part of the Mavericks’ organization at some point last season? Lin in the summer league, Novak on the regular season roster until January of last year.
The Knicks could be a very scary team. Obviously, they have been without Anthony. They have also been without Josh Harrelson for about a month. Big guy that can rebound and stretch the floor a little. Now they have JR Smith. I like their team.
As for my Mavericks, they are starting to impress me as well. Take away the end of the third quarter and the start of the 4th and they played a very solid game. They make great in game adjustments and play great team ball. Dirk is getting his groove back. If they can get and stay healthy, I think they have a solid core of veterans that could make a good run in the playoffs.

NYK2010Participant270 dunno about that, 8-12 mins a game if he played well that would be big.
Knicks need to hit there free throws and stop leaving some 3pt. shooters open and they should be fine.
Damn teams sleeping on Novak, Lin whats up with the scouts and coaches.
Mavs had a good game plan with the trapping but the Knicks have a lot of depth and it paid off.
