Lafferty DanielParticipantRaymond Felton is out for about 3 weeks with a hamstring injury. Now the Knicks are on record saying they are willing to make a trade for the Raps PG Kyle Lowry.
My question is what Toronto would get in return?
Shumpert has been on the block, but reporter Howard Beck said on Twitter that the Raps aren’t high on him, and the Knicks prefer to keep him for now.
Thoughts?

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantI honestly don’t see anything that the Knicks have that the Raptors would want, especially since the Raptors and Ujiri have made it absolutely clear that their rebuilding. And it won’t be a simple salary dump since Lowry’s contract expires this season anyway.
Does New York have any picks?

tblazer_NZParticipantHoward Beck: Note: Knicks have three 1st-round picks that are trade-eligible right now, per NBA rules: 2018, 2019, 2020. Twitter @HowardBeck – See more at: http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm#sthash.bpXOh9FK.dpuf

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantOh okay, another question: A team can’t be without back to back 1st round picks right? They can’t trade away consecutive first rounders?

prophetmeirParticipantThe knicks has to have one of the worst front offices ever, I like lowry alot but honestly thats way to much to give up. I would have tried to go after DJ at least temporarly. Hell I would try orlando apporach and try a 2 guard at pg for a couple of games Smith, Shump or hardway. Go after andre miller or someone damn

Lafferty DanielParticipantPer Woj at Yahoo, the Knicks are offering a package of Raymond Felton, Metta World Peace, and their 2018 1st Round Pick.

Lafferty DanielParticipantIf this rumor is true, I want to know what the heck the Knicks are thinking? Giving up a 1st round pick for a player that will be a free agent after this season makes no sense. Haven’t they learned that giving up future 1st round picks will continue to burn them? Desperate move if true. I guess they think they can climb back into the playoff race in the week East.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantWow. Toronto goes into full tank-mode (which they wanted to do anyway) and get a 1st rounder in the future for someone they were going to let go at the end of the season anyway.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantTo be honest though, Lowry is a better PG than Felton. But giving up yet another 1st rounder? That’s tough.

TyroberParticipantThat 2018 1st rounder could be gold. Look at the their 1st rounder this year and tell me the Nuggets aren’t jumping up and down. I know the Raps are trying to tank so I am not sure if this fits in with their plans, but it seems like it might in my opinion. When healthy Lowry is a much better PG than Felton, but a 2018 1st rounder could be the top pick or the 25th pick…. It is hard to tell with the Knicks.
0- Posted on: Thu, 12/12/2013 - 11:49am #856099

Lafferty DanielParticipantI was just thinking that the Nuggetts probably don’t want this trade to go down since Lowry is an upgrade over Felton, and should make the Knicks better for the remainder of the season.

MkadozaParticipantThe Knicks… My Knicks… have welcomed mediocrity again with open arms, and any short sighted trade like this would prove it. The problem stems from the top (Dolan needs to ********), and permiates down. I wish I could say I’m shocked but I’m not. When the Knicks only tradable assets are a #1 pick in 2018 and a slumping Shumpert shows how bad this franchise is. The Knicks are like the Cowboys, just with no dynasty in the 90’s. On a lighter note, the bandwagon from last year cleared out. Lotta room over here in Knicksland.

DolanCareParticipantI am a dedicated Knick fan and willing to recognize when there’s a problem. We will never be a great organization until James Dolan goes away.
He only keeps people around who are blindly loyal, never questioning his authority. And he has never understood how a salary cap works.
