The Knicks are meeting with Jason Kidd tomorrow about possibly signing him to the MLE. If they dont come to terms with Kidd then they are also interested in Ramon Sessions.

I’m not sure either is the answer because Kidd is 36 and Sessions might command too much money. If we sign Kidd I guarantee we make the playoffs. I really like Sessions. He has the physical tools of a prototypical PG and a knack for big shots.

If I was New York I would rather have Sessions

NY gets Kidd for maybe 3 or 4 years, that might attract Lebron since he has been demanding Kidd as his teammate since the Olympics.

So would I. If NY signs Kidd it probably wouldn’t be for more than 2 years so if they do get LeBron you probably only get 1 more good year out of Kidd then he walks/retires. You could sign Sessions to a 3-5 year deal and give him time to really learn the offense well before you make your big free agent signings, then all your pieces can work well together and you can be relevant for many years down the road instead of just being one and done with a Kidd/Lebron combo (assuming it actually happens)

Nash is a free agent next summer and you know Donnie Walsh will go after him hard, him and D’antoni are best friends plus he oves New York

No, If I was NY i want Sessions. He is younger and in a Dantoni system can be a 16ppg,10apg guy. He is very underrated/

yea id take Sessions. Kidd only has a couple years left, while Sessions can play a long time for them.

The Knicks will only offer 1 or 2 years to Kidd which could hurt their chances to land him.

How much do you think Sessions would cost? I’m thinking 6-8 million range. I think the Knicks would pay that. The problem is that Milwaukee would probably match that.

I know it is a longshot but what if the Knicks were able to get Sessions & keep David Lee: Wow

    PG-Sessions
    SG-Chandler
    SF-LeBron/Gallinari
    PF-Hill
    C-Lee

No chance on keeping Lee and getting Sessions both. Unless the impossible happens and we are able to trade Jeffries. Thats probably 15 million in salary.

Duhon is more of a backup and he’s only signed for this season. We need more than one PG.

    we should do this.

Lee and Jefferies to Portland for Webster, Freeman (rights), Frye and Mills

then offer Sessions a 5 year/19 mil offer sheet.

Then sign Gerald Green to a 2 year/ 3 mil deal.

the bucks wouldnt need a week to match that offer for sessions it would only take them 10 seconds

The knicks wont want to take back that much salary. Who’s Freeman? I like the signings but Sessions probably wouldnt go that cheap.

But Portland wants Hedo…he will suck in Portland. He is not a western conference player, his game fits more in the East.

I agree I don’t want Hedo. Free Agents I want in Portland are Millsap, Sessions, Miller, Bass, or Bibby.

KIDD would be a horrible signing. Hes 36 and has lost more than a few steps. We couldn’t sign him for long cause he is 36 so it would hurt in terms of building chemistry on a young team. Plus he is going to demand more than the MLE.

SESSIONS would be a better signing because of his age and athleticism but he is definitely going to demand more than 5yrs 19 mill. I say anywhere in the 4-5yr 24-36mill range. Plus the dude cant shoot a lick from downtown and you D’antoni loves the 3 ball.

overall neither would be a good signing. if the knicks are serious about getting a PG they need to make a splash in next years draft and buy/trade for a lottery pick or send chandler and hughes/nate to minnesota for rubio and a contract.
