logicParticipantAll night on the radio here in New York they were talking about what will happen first. Knicks signing a free agent or the Mets scoring a run. But i guess the Zen master actually has been working his zen. Because the Knicks just signed Afflalo to a two year 16 million$ deal. 8 million per with a player option in seccond year. The cheapest contract for the shooting guards in free agency. Idk jae Crowders numbers so sorry if I’m wrong. I like the pick up we still have a good amount of space. Not a bad start Phillip. What do you guys think of Afflalo and what do you guys think is next for Knicks ?

215NGBParticipantAaron Afflalo is a pretty good player in the NBA if put on the right team. Adding him to an already successful team would be ideal. He is someone that can help a team in many different areas. However adding him to a bad Knicks team will literally do nothing unless they are able to sign a more impact player in the upcoming days.

logicParticipantI think he is a good third option on an eastern conference team. I’m not saying he is coming in to save the Knicks. But compared to the contracts that other two guards are getting and the fact that Afflalo brings Much of the same qualtities on the court, I think we got some great value. Effort on d, a steady three point shot and good in the post. We may be able to get two more impact players depending on if phill can get them on cheaper contracts. Let’s say we go for a combination of either kousta koufas/ robin Lopez and Tobias Harris/Greg Monroe. Bring in a defensive minded big and our second option on offense.
So far Phil has upgraded our back court tremendously with better defense and more experience. And young guard who can play both ends. Added young stretch four, If anything kristaps will be a floor spacer right away. Good baby steps. I don’t think we make the home run hit this year but lets get the foundation of a playoffs team set.

Tight ButtholeParticipantI think it sounds like he essentially signed a one year contract with little to no chance he picks up his player option the following year. He goes to NY for one year to up his value by scoring more, defending well, being a good teammate and playing in the east against inferior competition. By showing all of these things in NY next season, along with the salary cap going up after this coming season, I dont see him staying. It was essesntially signing a prove it one year deal and banking on himself to get a better contract this time next year.

King CaluchaParticipantHe will be #2 in NY, good for both parties then. If the Knicks get a decent defensive center (like Robin Lopez), which is a long shot, I believe they have a chance at not being the worst team in the NBA next season. They will probably end up un in the 30-35 win range.

festar35ParticipantI can see them taking a one year flyer on Hibbert at C if they can’t get anyone else.
C. Hibbert PF. ? SF. Anthony SG. Afflalo PG. Calderon if they find a half decent PF or SF depending on where Anthony plays they have a play-off team.
I know Harris is similar to Anthony, but would they look at him?

Lotto StudParticipantThe Triangle must work. Make us a believer Phil!
Aaron Afflalo better "be" Kobe. I hope he rocks number #25… 1 over Kobe!
