As I post this, the score is 77 – 59 Nets way against Knicks at the Garden. Deron is having his way with 34 pts, 4 reb, 6 ast. The Knicks by the way, has Carmelo back on the floor!!! But as we’ve seen from their past games, a comeback is not out of the question, so this game I guess is not over till the siren ends at the 4th.

Lin seems hesitant to take over with Carmelo on the floor. He’s not playing his game in the closing minutes. Knicks reverting back to old iso game with Melo going hero ball.

Lin finally took initiative in the last couple possesions and taking the game over, driving at will, converting midrange J’s, free throws and assists. Too little too late though, Nets come away with the upset W at the Garden.

(not saying this overreacting to tonight)

IF the Knicks can trade Melo and Chandler for Dwight, they should absolutely do it.

Hey dude I’m a Magic fan and if it looks like Dwight really wants out I would be OK with trading Hedo and Dwight for Melo and Chandler. Melo is still a premium scorer in the league, and is in the prime of his career, much better than getting nothing for D12 at seasons end.

lin had a nice night but i think he deferred a little bit because he was having a poor night shooting, but still put up 18 shots. we had a bad shooting night and played horrible on the defensive side. part of it was to shumpert being out and tyson being in foul trouble. and another part to baron J.R and melo coming in. (i do know j.r played yesterday, but hes still not used to playing with the team). another part to the loss was deron was unconscious today.still by playing this terrible we were one stop and a bucket away from being back in the game and then who knows what would happen in the 4th. know its time for knick fans to judge the knicks game to game. hopefully this team meshes. i think they will and we can contend in the playoffs.

im just gonna put this out there: melo is a chemistry killer, overrated, loves 1vs1 play while not creating for others unless is making "THE PASS" not "a pass". not a fan

yall can blame Melo but to my knowledge hes never missed the playoffs…hes a gold medalist and an NCAA champion so hes proved hes a winner…

the coach needs to figure this out…hes lucky Lin dropped down from Planet X because if they dont make the playoffs i really put it all on Mike…

if they can get Howard for Amare/Chandler id do it…but if they trade Melo now that would look terrible (not saying theres much i wouldnt trade for Dwight lol)

Way to knock him for 1 game, his turnover and technical foul were bad but they weren’t winning this game most likely.

No one really played well outside of Fields for the Knicks.

Chandler with those stupid fouls n gettin tangled up with Humphries hurt in the 3rd qtr.

Mostly the defense was at fault for the 2nd and 3rd qtrs.

I love that term "Melo Hero Ball"

In his defense Melo actually has the highest PER in the 4th quarter.

JR Smith is back to his usally cowboy ways.  Melo+Smith+Shumper= Bad Shots which = turnovers.

    BTW where was Shumpert tonight?

Anyway guys hear me out what do you think of this trade, especially Knick fans

Melo and Tony Douglass go to the Sixers in return for Iggy, Nocioni, and Craig Brackins.

Why I feel as if it works great for both teams.  The Sixers get their Superstar closer they haven’t had since A.I. and gives them a better chance to compete with the upper echelon teams.

The Knicks get players who will make them a better "Team"  Iggy is getting a lot of DPOY votes and rightfully so the Sixers have the most efficient defense in the league.  Combine Iggy with Chandler and you got 2 players who can lock down the opponents low post player and their best wing scorer.  Then you got Shumpert who can lock down the best PG’s in the league.  Iggy is a great team player, glue guy, and facilitator.  He is also the best point forward in the league right now not named Lebron James who runs the floor and would flourish in D’Antoni’s system.

The Knicks can trade Melo because Lin has proven he can close and they have no trouble scoring so Melo’s services are no longer needed.  Iggy’s are for his defense, and team glue capabilities.  Also Nocioni is a great and gritty practice player whose toughness wears off just look at Hawes this year.  Plus this trade gives the Knicks financial room moving forward as Nocioni’s contracts come off the books and will give the Knicks around 8 mil in cap room next year.  Not to mention they have to resign Lin.  And Craig Brackins as an added bonus is a versatile forward who can shoot 3’s in the Shawne Williams mold and would be at better use in N.Y.

Damn, didn’t know there were this many Melo haters.  Wait and see once they get the chemistry.  Melo’s a great iso player but he doesn’t demand the ball, he knows when he should get it and is a great competitor.  When he’s up against great compitition is when he’s at his best, watch when Thursday night rolls along, he’ll be facing LBJ and thats when he’s at his best offensivily and defensivily.  He’s play with many stars before, "Redeem Team", that is a team that has more superstars than any team assemble besides "Dream Team".  He’s a team player and know when he should take his shots.

There is no chance that Dolan is going to authorize a trade of Melo after negotiating the give up the store trade to get him from Denver. Also, Isiah Thomas probably counceled him to make that trade, so he is presumably also on board pulling strings from afar. Melo is the Knicks for the foreseeable future.

Melo’s best skill so far has been recruiting. He recruited Chandler and now J.R. Smith. Basically the other basketball players all see Melo as a star that they want to play with. Chandler probably figured out by the time the Knicks were 7 and 15 that Melo was way over-rated. But Linsanity has saved the day.

By the way, Baron Davis’s first play of the season was to call his own number and shoot a 2 pointer from about a foot inside of the three point line. Basically, worst shot in basketball. He missed it. He spectacularly set up Novak later on with a spin move at the end of the 2nd period, but it was too late and the game clock expired as Novak released the three.

Tuck basketball is a team game not a superstars wrestling match.  Listening to talk radio about 90% of Philly wouldn’t even want Melo on the team because they think he’s too selfish and ruins chemistry and that the Sixers are so good cause they spread the ball around.  All this may actually be true but that doesn’t mean pieces fit better in different places.

The logic behind the Iggy for Melo trade is simple.  Melo is a scorer and the Knicks don’t have trouble scoring they have troubling defending.  The Sixers have no trouble defending and they don’t really even have trouble scoring until the end of the game and if Lou Williams aint on in a close game you can already book and L.

And I didn’t come up with this trade last night I’ve been throwing it around since the begining of the season.  Melo is under too much pressure in his home town to win.  And after that ugly losing to start the season Lin came around and saved everybodies job.  Now Melo is still the best player on the team so obviously people are looking to him for an encore. The same way people are looking at Kobe to show up what Jordan has accomplished.  It’s just not gonna happen and will leave dumb fans disapointed who have unreal expectations.

The Knicks are still not a team that scares me as a Sixer fan because they’re still not good at defense.  I’ll put money on it now that Lou and Jrue run circle around Lin when they play.  You can’t win a championship with only 2 people on your team who know how to play defense in Chandler and Shumpert.  But you add Iggy into the mix and suddenly you have a scary team.

The Knicks with Iggy would have a player to shut down the opponents best wing, Chandler to shut down the opponents best post man, and Shumpert to get up in the @rss of the opponents best guard.  Meanwhile the Knicks are still going to be able to score 100 points every night easy.  That’s a better team.
