theEDGEParticipantLamar Odom is a Free agent, because of his buy-out from the Mavs.

David Stern a.k.a. da muthaf@cking leader of da kryptsParticipantThe situation with Odom is too complicated for my mind… He isn’t with the Mavs, he isn’t a free agent, he hasn’t been waved and no team can sign him. I can’t understant this sh1t.

hubhubParticipantThe Josh Smith trade looks very intersting for me. He would probably be a better compliment to Carmelo than Amare. With Smith and Chandler on the roster, Knicks would have a top3 defense and I think that trade would make them more consistent througout the regular season. By getting Amare the Hawks would add some size to the starting lineup and Stoudemire and Horford at the 4 and 5 look very nice for me. Horford is a nice shooter and Amare would have some more room to operate than he now has while playing with Tyson. Obviously Amare’s contract is the issue but the Hawks have Joe Johnson contract in their payroll so with or without Amare they wont have enough money to sign an interesting free agent so as a Hawks GM I would found this trade very interesting for me. If the Hawks dont get past the Celtics this kind of trade will be even more possible.

HitsterParticipantSTAT for Smith is interesting but would Atlanta want to take on another huge contract. I could maybe see them wanting Fields or JR Smith as well and trying to move Marvin Williams to NY.
Hope that both Rose and Shumpert can return to full fitness in due course.

benny15Participanti still question the willingness of another team to take on Amare’s huge uninsured contract when he’s had an injury history. if it wasnt for that, i wouldnt mind the orlando or atlanta scenario going down. but fact is that taking on Amare’s contract comming from a season that his marketing value and production is at an all-time low, doesnt make good buisness for the knicks’ trading partner. as talented as Amare is, the knicks have to give up more to convince other teams to take him IMO.

mosdefParticipantall the trades outside of the Dallas one could happen but like another poster said, Amare’s deteriating body and his huge salary make him a very very hard move. He still is talented but his defense and jump in his legs are gone by the 1st quarter. The dude has had a bad eye, a bad knee and a bad back. Any deal that even mentions a borderline allstar I would say is asking for to much. The Houston deal you proposed seems about right. I would be looking to get the type of players the Kings got once they traded an injured Chris Webber…Kenny Thomas, Brian Skinner and some one else. Point is, dont expect much due to teams trying to cut payroll to avoid the luxury tax thats coming soon

The QParticipantIf I’m the Knicks I’d want the Orlando one.
Hedo’s nubmers when Howard is on the court are at an all-star level.
That shows how bad he is without Howard too. But he’d bring somethign the knicks lack on the wing as well.

larbear260Participantamare is virtually untradeable so none of these will or even have a slight chance of happening, plus dallas wouldnt make that deal since odom is a free agent, and because theyre goal is to dump haywood without taking any salary back
