Knicks close to 3 deals that would completely shakeup their roster.
    #1
    Boston tades:

    House
    1st rounder

    Knicks trade:

    Robinson

    #2
    Houston trades:

    McGrady

    Knicks trade:

    Jeffries
    Hill
    Hughes
    2012 first rounder
    possibly swap 2011 1st rounders

    #3
    Chicago trades:

    Tyrus Thomas
    possibly Jannero Pargo

    Knicks trade:

    Harrington

These trades would leave the Knicks with a completely renovated roster

    C- Lee/Curry
    PF- Thomas/Bender
    SF- Gallinari/Chandler
    SG- McGrady/House
    PG- Duhon/Pargo/Douglas

    Is this a playoff team?

The only players left on the payroll after this year would be

    Curry
    Douglas
    Gallinari
    Chandler

I doubt all 3 of them happen

The hold-up with the Nate one is his contract is BYC, so its harder to trade him

The hold-up with the T-Mac trade is they want a 2012 1st rounder…and the Knicks dont wanna give that up

The hold-up with the 3rd one is…simply because the numbers dont match, and neither team has ‘reasonable’ fillers

So…its alot of obstacles to overcome with the 3 of them, and between today and tommorrow, we’ll see…

They won’t the playoffs but looks like the Celtics trade will go through.
Not sure if the Rockets trade pans out.

I love the boston deal, and I think Nate will not reject it because he is going to a playoff team that is competing for a championship, and if the 1st round pick is for this year then I really like it because this draft is pretty good and we can get someone good.

I am cool with the Houston deal as long as the Knicks take out the 1st rounder in 2012 because I think that is too much to give away just for McGrady.

The Chicago deal, I am mixed on because I am not that big on Tyrus Thomas, and would love to get the bulls first round pick in exchange along with Tyrus Thomas if we have to give up Al Harrington.

I think the Nate deal is the one that is most likely to happen.

The best thing for the Knicks is to basically trade everyone but Gallinari. The Knicks should do any trade that rids them of Eddy Curry and Jared Jeffries even if it means having to trade David Lee, Al Harrington, Nate Robinson, Jordan Hill, and possibly Wilson Chandler. Then the Knicks can build from there draft some players and get some very good free agents (Joe Johnson as a possibility). I could care less as a Knicks fan if the final 30 games the lineup goes Duhon-Douglas-Gallo-PF acquired in trade-C acquired in trade.

That makes no sense to trade Wilson Chandler he’s a far superior player than Galinari rite now.
Rockets are asking too much and it seems like Walsh isn’t going to give up a 2012 1st rounder unless its lottery protected.

My point being if the Knicks want to clear house it may mean they have to give up there better players. Also, by your picutre of LeBron Wilson Chandler would have to go. You would trade away Wilson Chandler if it meant a better chance at Lebron, wouldn’t you??

I would give Houston our 2011 and 2012 Draft picks if it meant they would take on Eddy Curry as well as Jared Jeffries.

If Houston wants our 2011 and 2012 first round picks so badly, this is the trade I would offer them.

No protection on the 2012 pick, and lottery protected on the 2011 pick (or swapping picks for 2011)

Don’t have to trade Chandler he can play SG or come off the bench even.
He’s a very good chip I wouldn’t move him to clear cap space to me he’s the Knicks best player outside of David Lee.

I agree, but if it means a brighter free agency for us then I would do it. Leave it up to Donnie, we’ll see what happens at 3pm tomorrow.

    In other news…

Knicks ready to trade Milicic for Cardinal:

This trade is pretty much irrelevant, but its something done..

Yeah I think Walsh isn’t giving into the Rockets so easily, especially since they don’t have other teams giving them much at all. I would give up Chandler for Aaron Brooks but doubtful the Rockets agree to that trade.

Knicks – Celtics trade is supposedly almost a done deal.

Knicks – Rockets deal is also supposed to be pretty much a lock because the Bulls are the only other ones in the conversation and they cant offer the Rockets as much as the Knicks even if the Knicks dont give everything the Rockets are asking from them.

Knicks – Bulls trade also has a very good chance of happening because the Bulls feel they need scoring help to make a push in the Playoffs. Harrington could help with that. Proposed trade is Harrington for Ty Thomas and Jerome James.

Knicks – Celts deal is pretty much done..

The holdup is the Knicks have a 15 man roster & we’d have to get rid of someone to make it work
Thats were brian cardinal comes in….once we waive him, then that deal will become official
