Is there a worst run organisation than the Knicks ?

They just can’t seem to draft and develop players, they much rather spend the $$ on other teams players.

They are going to offer Brunson a big contract, 4 years $100 mill. Sure Brunson is decent, but he is not a all-star nor is he going to push the Knicks past the first round of the playoffs

Not sure I agree with this at all.

They turned Kemba Walker and 4 second round picks into 3 future first round picks (which are very likely to convey) and $18 million in cap space. Was a player at the 11th spot of the draft going to significantly change their team next season? No.

I thought the Knicks actually had a pretty good night on draft night. First round picks are clearly are golden currency and they added 3 of them and prepared themselves for this year’s free agency. I think that’s actually a win both today and for the future.

Yeah I’m confused. I got the impression that they traded the 1st round picks to Charlotte for Duren and then traded Duren with the Kemba contract for the 2025 Milwaukee pick and the cap room.

Since I got back into basketball in mid 200’s having been a fan in the Showtime/Mj/Larry Bird era the Knicks have been the biggest underachieving team in the NBA or even for their size in most sports. There hasn’t really been much luck in the lottery and when they got that potential franchise changing player in Porz he ended up with injuries and was moved on.

Another point I’ve noticed is that despite no real success in over 20 years and no title in 45 the lure of NY and playing at MGS plus the chance to be the player to turn the franchise around has never been a tempter to one of the real elite top table FAs. Sure they got STAT but he had well known durability issues and they traded for Melo whose play off appearances about equal what the Knicks have done. They have never been able to attract a LBJ type player with the carrot of being the person to bring a title to NY. LBJ went to Lakers and got them title 18 for example.

There wasn’t a likely superstar at 11th in this years draft but lots of good players who could have helped the Knicks. It wasn’t a draft you may want to get out of as there is no depth. The Knicks were already projected to have cap space next summer so have they a FA move in mind by getting these future picks in trades?
