with 2 picks in the 2nd round, what kind of prospects are you hoping land to the knicks? Although Phil dropped the ball on rose and noah, he does have an eye for talent so it will be interesting.

As a Knicks fan I just hope we can get any talent whatsoever out of those picks. The Knicks just have to get some more talent on the roster regardless of position. That being said though with our first pick I’m hoping to get one of the top PGs like Fox or Smith. But if Jackson or Tatum falls into our laps I wouldn’t mind that either.

Two second round guys who I hope fall to us are Semi Ojeleye, and Edmond Sumner. There was a thread on here recently comparing Ojeleye to Jimmy Butler. I wouldn’t go quite that far, but I think he’s going to end up being a good player in the league as a combo forward who stretches the floor, and plays solid defense. Sumner had he not been injured I think was a surefire first round pick. The Knicks aren’t contending for a championship anytime soon so I would love to take a chance on him. I think pending his recovery from a torn ACL he’s going to be a solid player who can play at the point, score, create, rebound and play solid defense.

I would love to see him package the 2 2nd round picks to a stacked contender for a late first rounder and gor for one of the following….  a lottery talent who drops (like Semi or Terence Ferguson). 1) Semi can contribute now. I see him in a Jonathan Simmons mold in the NBA, but with way more upside. 2) Swing for the fences…T Ferg is  a home-run swing. Zach Lavine or Harold Miner? 3) suggestions??

knicks need wing players bad obviously they  lacktalent  overall too. Melo is starting to age and KP, gomez are solid young players. A legit scoring PG is needed and SG/SF too.. The team needs guys that play defense. I can’t wait till. Phil is gone and Melo/Noah are either traded or contracts expire.

Most likely highly praised talents to fall are bigs.

There are too many traditionnal PFs and Cs in the 15-40 range right now on most mocks/big boards. Depending on who declares there should be a very good value pick available at 46 for someone among (Raab, Adebayo, John Collins, Jonathan Motley,  Tyler Lydon, Patton, Swanigan), possibly even at 58. Euro bigs are very successful right now so I expect one or 2 to jump all these NCAA bigs and end up first rounders (Lessort? Pasecniks? Someone else?). Seeing Knicks roster though that’s not really a positional need with how Willy performs and the likelihood to have Porzingis at the 5 in the triangle (and possibly Melo at the 4).

What the Knicks need is a big wing to play SF and small ball 4, but there are too few in the draft and most of them will be taken before 46 let’s be real. Perhaps the Knicks get lucky drafting an international guy in that role (Kulbolka?)
