josephgoodeParticipantThe Sacramento Kings primary target should be to add a running mate for Evans, who is obviously a shooting guard and Big man Cousins. There are only 2 pure starting point guards in this draft that standout; Irving and Knight. Irving will definitely be off the board with the top 2 picks but Knight will be there between the 3 thru 5 pick, and I definitely believe the Kings need to trade up to get him. The Kings who possess the 7th pick need to package that pick along with Casspi and whoever else to grab that 3rd pick.
With Knight, Evans, Cousins and a few solid veteran free agents, the Kings could very well be a bubble 8th seed in the West next year. I could also see the Kings keeping the 7th pick and grabbing Kawhi Leonard who looks like a solid starter in the mold of Gerald Wallace but he even might be gone when the Kings pick.
Kings should put all there marbles in the basket and get Knight. There also have been talks of Walker but I see him more of a shooting guard off the bench in a point guards body. He was more successfully playing off the ball more like Iverson, and Jason Terry.
Knight needs to be our guy.

BKKnicksfanParticipantCasspi and the 7th to Utah for the 3rd could work

4th dimensionthe Kings are better off with Kemba Walker, who has a better PG skills and is proven he can play without the ball in his hands.

josephgoodeParticipantStarted games for UConn at point and they started off slow but when they inserted Napier to play the point and shifted Walker to the off guard spot, you saw Walker becoming more effective. Walker is a short shooting guard instead of point which basically makes him a possible great 6th man.

the dude that is number 1 on my list…..well thats sort of obvious lol had similar stats to Ibaka in ACB and was 1 year younger,Knight wouldnt even get many shots being on a team with Tyreke(who was horrible last year),Cousins, lil roc,and Brandon isnt a good defender.

josephgoodeParticipantThornton is an ideal 6th man off the bench. He can come in and score 15-20points and also close the game with Evans for the 1st few years for Knights. I can see him being a real good point for the Kings

AKOOParticipantHopefully the Kings take a PG, so the Hawks can send them Kirk Hinrich for Dalembert in a sign and trade since people are buying into Kirk being some great teacher and helper of young PG’s

HitsterParticipantIf the Kings did want to try and land Knight then they would probably need to get into the top 4 which would probably mean a deal with Cleveland or Utah. Cleveland would probably look to keep picks unless the Kings took some sort of salary dump possibly involving Jamieson to move up. Utah again if they were keen on Kanter or Knight may be loathe to trade down and assuming that DMC and Evans are off limits there may be limited interest in the rest of the Kings roster for them. The Kings could maybe offer Utah the right to swap draft picks in 2012 or a future pick providing they put a bit of protection on it. Utah should be a fair bit stronger than the Kings next year and a higher pick in a loaded 2012 draft could be of interest to Kevin O’Connor Utah’s GM but they do owe picks to the T-Wolves so may want an outright pick in return.
Again the Kings could offer to take on Okur’s expiring deal to save Utah cap space which might be of interest to both sides.

the I in winParticipantI actually think Kemba is the better fit. Kemba isn’t a true point but Tyreke usually has the ball in his hands any ways. Kemba was at his best when off the ball and with Tyreke he can be off the ball. Kemba wouldn’t have to defend shooting guards ever becuase the Kings have Tyreke and are going to resign Thorton, both of whom can guard the 2. Tyreke is a quiet guy and Demarcus Cousins isn’t leader material, Kemba is.
I think Knight would be good and I thought thats who the Kings where going to get unitl Knight shot up 5 picks about a month ago. Does anyone else remember seeing something saying GM’s weren’t sure if he was a first round pick a few months ago?

durantula83ParticipantImagine if you can team him up with Tyreke in the backcourt. Tyreke as playmaker and Kemba as pure scorer and defensively they just switch. Kemba is better defensively than Knight, and has the potential to be a lockdown defender. Walker is a born winner, and I believe he will become a special player in time. He has an air of invincibility in him (not yet always on display though) that only the very best possess.

josephgoodeParticipantWatching Evans the past few years, I never saw him being a playmaker. When he got caught up in a situation then his teammates would bail him out. Kemba to me has a little more playmaking ability but really seem to be a shooting guard. Walker, Evans and Thornton all need the ball, and I feel Knight would be a better distributor. Kendall Marshall would fit this squad if the Kings can add a lights out shooter next year hahah just saying

PlatypusParticipantKemba + Tyreke = great young perfect fitting back court
if the kings are smart they’ll draft kemba and use sammie d in a sign and trade for a forward

TheLastWordParticipantKemba and Tyreke would not work neither has NBA three point range. You could play a zone all game against them.

BBall4life88ParticipantI agree with most…I like Kemba. I think some people are underestimating his ability to play pg in the NBA. Kemba was a winner and he carried that team on his shoulders game after game, and he did what his team needed him to do to win, being a scorer first and playmaker. If UCONN had more scoring depth i think he would have had less pts and more assists…and i think it’s harder to get assists in the college game. He’ll put up better assists #’s in the NBA.
Kemba also has top notch intangibles, he’s a great guy, very smart and looks like a strong natural born leader and seems like a very hard worker…he got better every single year, and his jumpshot improved dramatically throughout his college career.

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantI love Kemba as a player and he steps up in the clutch but Knight is a clear cut glove like fit for the Kings…I’ve been saying it from the start don’t be surprised to see BK in a Kings jersey very soon, Knight/Evans/Cousins with a eye on Terrence Jones in 2012…Kemba is a better fit in Detroit and he’ll likely land there in 3 weeks…The Kings may have to offer Casspi/Dalembert and the 7th pick but it can happen, that’s a trade I think a few teams before them would like…

apb540ParticipantRight on Scare Crow. Kemba over Knight seems a bit outlandish, especially for a team that needs a good jump shooting PG. Knight and Sac Town are a match made in bball heaven.
