Just signed Sean May to a one year deal worth about 1 million, kind of a shame, the kings DO have money to spend. I was really hoping we would make a run at David Lee, and that used to be a rumor like a week ago. Though maybe the Kings have a plan to sign maybe one more free agent, and maybe a decent onbe im not sure yet though. Im not sure what exactly the point is in signing May, possibly as a trading piece or just someone to fill up the 4 spot behind JT. It is also a possibility that Geoff Petrie is cooking up some master plan to get a really good player.

    Thoughts???

when they already have thompson and hawes. they dont need david lee. i think the kings should look into getting a small forward .

    dont negative point me lol
but i think tyreke will be the top 3 best players to come out of the draft but i dont think he was a good fit for your team.
uh Rubio or a more pure point would have been better to set up plays for Kevin Martin.
Evans is not a pure point guard.
possibly could end up as a bigger poor man’s iverson but i think he wil have a steller career…
as far as Sean May idk maybe the kings are so high on Thompson that all they wanted was a backup for him and have him and Hawes in the front court with Nocioni

truth87 – They’re loaded at SF with garbage and poor contacts. A real center would have been nice for the kings…being that hawes and thompson are PF’s really.

i see may as a trading piece with kenny thomas or kmart. maybe a big package of kevin, k-thomas and may. Kthomas and may are expiring contracts, they’re gonna be attractive through trades. don’t be surprised if kevin martin isn’t a king by the end of 2009-2010.

There isn’t anyone available in free agency that i really want the kings to sign. Lee is good but we dont need a starting PF who wants the money he wants when we have Thompson.

The Kings are playing it smart and not giving out big money to anyone unnecessarily. May is a 1 yr guy who is low risk, high reward. If he sucks he’s gone next year simple as that. There is no crazy master plan to get someone good anytime soon. Our roster is pretty much set for this year.

    Evans, Udrih, Rodriguez
    K-Mart, Garcia
    Nocioni, Casspi, Greene
    Thompson, May, Brockman
    Hawes, Kenny Thomas

Iam SUPER glad the kings didnt slect Rubio, I personally think he is gonne be a bust, I dont trust Europeans coming in the NBA. Tyreke Evans is going to be an amazing player and an All Star mark my words. Rubio = Darko Milicic

i really would like to see the kings move kevin. He’s at an attractive age and is in his 3rd year of his 5 year contract.

with this trade, if they could get a PG out of it, nice. start evans at SG and start whoever through a trade at PG.

I wanted Flynn more than anyone, I was a little bit annoyed at the Evans pick at first but thats because I didnt really know much about him i guess.. After seeing him play i like the pick, definitely gonna be a very good nba player

I agree that Rubio will be a bust, Evans will be a great player, but a pass first true pg may have been a better idea.

I tihnk Evans is going to work out at PG–I’m tihnking he is the PG of the Kings future. I wouldnt mind trading KMart, but I think if we do trade anything it would be a few expiring contracts(May, Thomas) for someone and still keep KMart.

Iam so SICK of seeing Kenny Thomas on our roster, he jus doesnt belong in SacTown, i cant wait to see him gone. Im not saying hes bad, because he could be an effective piece on a different team or perehaps a team looking at a title run, hes nothing but a money absorber for the kings

And i hope and pray our new coach in Paul Westphal can develop our young talent and hopefully make our franchise win a couple more games.

as long as the…. well…. magoofs… keep calling the shots..and not let the coaches figure things out and run the show….this franchise will have trouble here and there.

as far as what i’ve been hearing since theus got fired…..beno and natt did not get along…at all…. so he got benched..and then played poorly.

if he gets along with westfall…and likes his new system…what do you think?

I know one thing for sure, the Kings ARE NOT going to be the worst team this year, IMO the Bucks are gonna end up being the worst team, they lost RJ and are about to lose Sessions, this team isnt gna look good this year, the T wolves could end up being the worst team too, more likely the bucks tho. And as for Westphal, from what i understand he plays an uptempo game, Beno enjoys that style of play, and so does Tyreke the freak, so the kings are going to fare better this year. Beno is going to play alot better for sure

i was thinking with a coach he can get along with…maybe he’d play a bit better..because he was worth an alright contract before he started playing bad. i just don’t want to see beno as the next kenny thomas..ya know?

No need to worry, he wont be another Kenny Thomas. Haha. I think Westphal knows how to handle this type of squad the kings have this year, and the kings also became fairly deep at the PG position with Tyreke, Beno, and newly aquired Sergio Rodriguez, the kings are actually known to jump start alot of guys careers. So thats a plus, and btw congratz on having ur grizzles getting a 20 and 10 guy in Z-Bo. 😛

lol thanks..but i really wish the grizzlies had picked up lee. :(.

spencer…i really hope you’re joking man…because the magoofs could end up doing that.. lol.

    To grizzly and spencer

Grizzly: indeed, Lee would have been a great pick up, hes a walking double, i was hoping the kings could pick him up. guess not.

And Spencer: The maloofs COULD actually do that, which is a shame.

Why would you guys trade Kevin Martin? 25 ppg? How old is the guy, 25? I could see if he was scoring like Jerry Stackhouse used to but he gets to the line all day.

when all you can do is score…no defense…no rebounds..no passes…no steals…plenty of turnovers…..it’s so one dimensional. trust me…trade him now and get some worth out of it.

what really pisses me off is the fact that doug christie..one of the defensive legends and was an important piece in the 00-01, 01-02, 02-03 era…. had offered defensive training and help to kevin martin and the youth of the kings…and i don’t think anyone’s taken the guy up on the offer….

i read some strong words from kmart lately in an article… it was on hoops hype i believe the other day…. he said he can look in the mirror and be fine with himself. he said… on one leg…he’s averaging 24ppg. to me, that’s arrogance…a shooter can get 24ppg on a young struggling team…it doesn’t make him good….

Kmart’s game is so incomplete in every area but points…

Maybe if you guys get a big man who can help him on defense, a PG who can get him the ball, and some other guys who can play D, he’ll look much better like every other big name.
