Robb_CParticipantWatched the Butler vs Villanova game, can someone explain to me why the Butler student body felt it was necessary to rush the floor as a ranked opponent vs Villanova? I think its corny when successful programs fan bases storm the court..

CU.LIONSParticipantIsn’t that what college kids do? In only takes a few to start, in a matter of seconds, the flood comes rushing in (kids in this case) it won’t be the first or the last time this happens.

Robb_CParticipantIm all for teams students rushing the court, I just think its a little obnoxious when a ranked team that has recent final 4 banners in the rafters does.. It’s almost like the Butler fanbase still has this little brother complex..

ChewyParticipantapplies to players and coaches. Not drunk 20 yr olds. I never have a problem with it unless it puts a player in danger.

Mr. FrisbeeParticipantApparently a friend of mine once kicked Emeka Okafor in the shin after storming the court. He was about a 4’10 scrawny, white preteen at the time

Hype MachineAdults (people aged between 18-21) will act like little kids as long as American society treats them like little kids. Its a self fulfilling prophecy.
Examples:
1) Can’t drink like other adults until 21.
2) Deprived the right to earn an income playing sports unless they leave the country
3) Unable to purchase firearms legally and in a safe controlled manner, therefore resulting in black market ownership.
When society accepts that an 18yo is a grown adult and deserves full adult priveleges, these kids will start acting accordingly.
These college programs are coddling kids and preventing them from growing up. Its a disgrace.

OhCanada-ParticipantHype wtf are you talking about? You must watch to much CNN. You sound like a right wing republican soccer mom thats had enough after she found her daughter smoking pot in a hot tub with Rampage Jackson. Let it go hype…let it go.

Hype MachineMy Hype Machine schtick is actually soon to expire. I’m gonna go all out in the meantime though.
Im embarking on an extended Asian Basketball Odyssey later this month and a greater level of professionalism will be required.
Im going to break through the bamboo ceiling of the basketball world.

FritzParticipantSo is one. It blows my mind that people think its okay to give an 18 year old the ability to "consent" to go to war and kill people, yet we dont give them the ability to drink alcohol until 21. If an 18 year old is not mature enough to handle the decision to control their alcohol use then they for sure are not mature enough to comprehend all the complex moral issues that goes into war.
But hey, our military would prefer our soldiers not think on their own, and act like puppets. A "good soldier" is one that does what they are told. This is not me taking a shot at veterans, its just the nature of a well run cohesive military. A soldier that does not do what he is told can cause danger to the rest of his soldiers.
My point is, its wrong to give 18 year olds the ability to consent away their free will to the military before we view them as responsible enough to handle alcohol on their own. Rant over, back to basketball.
