Hi its BenParticipantAs of right now I haven’t seen him play that much if at all.. Just the Pittsburgh summer league clips but seeing him run and how much of an athlete he is.. is it fair to compare him to Tyrus Thomas? Again I haven’t seen any actual in game film of him so if anyone has can you shed some light on this? Who do you think he compares well too?

RUDEBOY_ParticipantHe plays alot like a former Pitt player name Chris Taft…Both had great athleticism & explosiveness, but lacked understanding on how to play the game….
Maybe the folks at Pitt will tell him about Taft’s mistakes and faults and he’ll learn from them and be a better player…

scoutguruParticipantTaft had some nice moves on the block though. Not sure if Birch has any viable college ready moves at this point though..

JNixonParticipantYeah exactly. Chris Taft was an offensive minded big with a big body. Khem Birch is a thin shot-blocker with a catch and finish game offensively.
I think Dante Taylor who’s at Pitt now is much more similar to Chris Taft to Birch. Birch reminds of a younger Larry Sanders, I can see that. Birch won’t be an impact Fr. at all though. He’s far too skinny and far too raw on offense. And he’ll probably be foul prone too. Not to mention Pitt has alot of depth on the frontline. The Big East isn’t kind to raw big men, especially raw big men with underdeveloped frames.
