Chilbert arenasParticipantIf I’m Minni I don’t want Martin, your best ability is your availability and Martin can’t stay healthy

baggin13ParticipantWhat are the chances that Houstan trades Kevin Martin to Minnesota?

river09ParticipantThe wolves management will definitely bear Kevin Martin’s injury history in mind when they’re weighing they’re options this off season, especially considering the injuries the wolves faced this year.

SmooveKRYPTParticipantI’m surprised it didn’t happen this season. Adleman loves him, he knocks down 3s, plays great off the ball, & gets to the FT line frequently. Definitely could’ve helped Minny a lot at the 2 spot.

Raef LaFrentzParticipantI’d be fine with it as long as he doesn’t start to think he’s "the man" in Minnesota. He’d be a HUGE upgrade from Wesley "I forgot how to play even moderately decent basketball" Johnson.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantKevin Martin would actually be a good addition to that team. Honestly, he would put them over the hump and make them a legit playoff team, not just a fringe team. They would need to get a good defensive-minded player off the bench because when you’re playing Rubio and K-Mart, there’s not much defense there.
Who would the Rockets get in return?

HaleParticipantI don’t think his lateral quickness is that good, but ither then that nbanflguy is right. Rubio is not only a good defender but a great one. He struggles against the elite athletes, but his length, anticipation and willingness to defend are all exceptional.

NbanflguyParticipantTOL I agree on almost everything except this part: They would need to get a good defensive-minded player off the bench because when you’re playing Rubio and K-Mart, there’s not much defense there.
Rubio is actually a really good defender. He has great lateral quickness, add his long arms and thats great combination. Hustles and frusterates opponents. Great at getting in the passing lane and deflecting passes. Was top 5 in steals and offensive fouls drawn.

Thanks for letting me know. I didn’t watch many Minny games this season (probably like 6-8). Didn’t realize he wasn’t a bad defender.

Yeah np. It was a big surpise this year. People thought he had the potential to be a good defender some day, but he was the best defender on our team from day 1. I would say his defense was actually his biggest strength this year. Even better than his passing and vision.

KHAM83ParticipantHow about swapping the pick they got from Utah for Kevin Martin? Houston gets 2nd pick in top 16. They can fill needs and draft Myers Leonard and a Sg. Minnesota gets a veteran who under Alderman equals instant improvement, which is the best thing for this young team. Start experiencing winning on a consistent basis.

Future_Scout’s mocki actually like that idea a lot ^. rockets would have 5 picks, they can make some SERIOUS packages of talent…

joecheck88ParticipantThe only problem with trading him for a draft pick is that Houston is already a collection of good draft picks. They need to package some of these players to try and get a star. I know that is easier said then done but reality is Houston was a playoff team with Martin & Lowry but when the got injured it fell apart. Martin can help alot of teams with his scoring if he stays healthy.
