RUDEBOY_ParticipantI said that both Love & Blake would have a chance to make it if the coaches picked either Blake or Love..Stern was surely going to pick the other..Stern always tries to give exposure to the Flavor of the moment…

nateoak10ParticipantStern …. Last year he denied Monta for Billups and Kidd cause he was on a well below .500 team and put up crazy numbers just like Love is. But Love is on the worst team in the West but gets a free pass
May I remind people Stern after Monta’s moped thing was never a fan, he’s never eally shown 2nd rounders love, Monta didnt want to play for team USA that summer and said no Colangelo but mainly Stern, I still remeber when he handed him the MIP he had a the facial expression of " who the f voted him? I dont wanna give this guy his trophy" . He had a press conference about picking some of the guys he did and someone asked him why not Monta, his response " You dont think Billups is a good player?" reporter then says " hes been better than billups" , he says " I think Billups is a darn good player." : /
Now Monta’s team is hovering just below .500 ,hes playing even better than he did last year and gets snubbed again. Again
Then their is Aldridge, carrying POR w/o Roy and still right in the playoff hunt, Andre Miller sounded pissed about it too, saying things like LA got no respect and just cause Griffin dunks a lot doesnt mean he makes LAC that much better. LBJ didnt even make it as a rookie
I like Love, but if were going to be consistent with who gets the award and people get snubbed for their team then stick with that. DOnt switch it up for 1 guy. Then theirs the excitment factor, the AS weekend has been dull for a while, why not get LA and Monta there? Some of the most exciting guys in the NBA ? Poor choices
While Im ranting , Ray , KG and Duncan should not be all stars … KG is getting 15 and 8 sure but those arent AS numbers, Ray has 17 ppg which is solid but I’d rather put Felton on the roster, carries a heavier load and does more for his team.
And Duncan, I like you Timmy but 13 and 9 in below 30 mpg should not make you an all star

Quincey HodgesI think if Ellis put up numbers that had not been put up in 30 plus years he would have made it. But i can see you’re point. I think you have a better case against Blake because his numbers have been put up by other players before recently
This is a year where someone was gonna get snubbed from the forward spot because there were so many. I can’t really argue too much for Ellis because he hasn’t put played any of the shooting guards that are on the team and unlike forwards who can put a forward in for a center since the centers aren’t that good you can’t sub him for the point guards who have been killing

llperezmota takes more shots per game then anyone in the league but is not top 5 in scoring. COnsidering scoring is his biggest strength, that is not a good thing. I had him not making it although he is certainly in the discussion for next couple guys out.

nateoak10ParticipantANd he’s 6th in the NBA in scoring , .3 behind Kobe for 5th and Kobe takes probably double the FT’s Monta does
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/04/2011 - 3:29pm #483109

OhCanada-Participant41 and 7. Thats 6 wins for every 1 loss. Thats a team headed towards a 70 and 12 record. 70 and 12! Im sorry but I really think they need 3 allstars and thats before Love.
Im not hating on Love by any means, Ive always been a huge fan of his, and even before the year started Ive stated hes the best rebounder in the leaue. But he is on the 2nd worst team in the league, I just dont undersatand how you can name him as an allstar.

Denver wins games…

IndianaBasketballParticipantCongrats to Kevin Love and T-Wolves fans, but I just don’t think Love should’ve been picked over Parker, Odom or Aldridge.
How can you be an All-Star on the second worst team in the league… Worst defensive team in the league?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/04/2011 - 3:36pm #483116
nateoak10ParticipantThey also have way better players then GSW…
Monta, Curry, Biedrins, Wright, Williams, Udoh compared to Melo, Billups, Afflalo, Nene, Kmart, Forbes, JR, Birdman, Lawson
Denver has a way better team ,cant blame Monta there, and by this logic Love shouldnt be in the game
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/04/2011 - 3:38pm #483117
nateoak10ParticipantBut still, Denver has a much better overall team
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/04/2011 - 3:43pm #483119

OhCanada-ParticipantLove shouldnt be in the game…Neither should Monta. I love them both to death but theres no way that you can tell me if Monta was traded for Carmelo today Denvers team would be as good as they are right now. Same way with Duncan and Love, Duncan does so much for San Antonio’s team its unbelievable. He gives the on court leadership of Kobe Bryant ot there, clogs up the middle, helps his shooters get space, makes wise decisions all the time. Duncan is an Allstar very easily in my mind.

nateoak10ParticipantHe’s not a SF…….
Im sorry if you dont play 30 mpg or more I dont think you should be an all star unless your numbers are still great . Still a great player but I dont think he should be an all star this year. SAS wins through team defense and ball movement not, stars going crazy , the opposite of Miami for example
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/04/2011 - 3:49pm #483122

llperezohacnada, i dont understand your comparing them with melo and duncan since both those guys did make the team. If you want to justify love and monta not being all-stars, then you have to compare them with guys that didnt make the team that you would put over them.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/04/2011 - 3:52pm #483123

OhCanada-ParticipantI respect your opinion Nate and agree to disagree, although I also believe San Antonio would struggle to even be a playoff contender if not for Duncans presence and effort. Thats an allstar imo. Poor Ellis though, hes definitely an extremely hardworker and one of the best scorers in the game. G-State looks like they are a team on the rise, maybe next year right.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/04/2011 - 3:56pm #483125

IndianaBasketballParticipantI’m happy for Love, but him making it just doesn’t feel right…
I mean, his team only has 11 wins… They’ve been awful all season. Not even competitive. They’ve been consistently awful. They’re no better than the Cavs. How do you reward that?
Is Stern saying that All-Stars don’t make their teams better? I mean, even a little better?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/04/2011 - 4:04pm #483128

llperezthey are defenitely better then the cavs. cavs got 8 quick wins and then have turned into the one of the worst teams i have ever seen.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/04/2011 - 4:05pm #483129

llperezplus take love off the wolves and they might have like 3-4 wins at this point. ANybody watching the wolves can see he is keeping them in games at least.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/04/2011 - 4:06pm #483131

marcusfizer21ParticipantI love Kevin Love!
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/04/2011 - 4:07pm #483132

IndianaBasketballParticipantRecord wise, they aren’t any better than the Cavs. I mean, only three more wins.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/04/2011 - 4:09pm #483133

llperez3 more wins when you only have 8 is and might not win 3 more all season is quite a bit. And teams know they actually have to show up and play for at least a half or 3 quarters vs the wolves. Vs the cavs, you can just coast the whole game.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/04/2011 - 4:12pm #483134

IndianaBasketballParticipantIt’s just going to be interesting in the future when more players have great seasons on bad teams. A lot of players have gotten snubbed in the past due to putting up great numbers on a bad team.
Is Stern going to change the criteria for them too?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/04/2011 - 4:18pm #483138

llperezi honestly dont remember many guys that i thougth should have made that were on losing teams and didnt get invited becasue of the team success. Last i guy i really felt was held out for lack of team success was al jefferson in 2008 when shaq made it over him while with the suns.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/04/2011 - 4:27pm #483143
nateoak10ParticipantAgree to disagree . I just hate how some of the NBA’s hardest workers rarely get noticed
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/04/2011 - 6:59pm #483201

PurpleMonkeyDishwasherParticipantKevin Love will be the only guy in NBA history to average 5 off. rebounds per game and 45% from 3 pt. range in the same season.
Those stats can’t be denied no matter how bad of a team they assemble around him.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 02/05/2011 - 11:38am #483380

IndianaBasketballParticipant2 or 3 of Love’s offensive rebounds are his own misses.
With as many shots as his team misses, there are a lot of rebounds to be had.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 02/05/2011 - 11:46am #483383
jeff416ParticipantZBO deserves to be there more then Love, there numbers are pretty close but ZBO plays on a much better team. Aldridge desrves to be in over Love to.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 02/05/2011 - 1:21pm #483411
K.LOVE THE ALLSTARyep kevin love and Blake made it and THEY BOTH are on bad teams..lol..aint it great. a new era is upon us and many on here are pretty upset about it
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/11/2011 - 8:01am #488229

PurpleMonkeyDishwasherParticipantAll players (and all good and bad teams) miss shots… not all players can get off. rebounds whether they are from their own misses or someone elses. Love is extremely gifted in this area…. it can’t be intelligently argued against.(imo)
