I couldn’t see him going anywhere but the Lakers… Only trust fund baby Buss would be foolish enough to give Love a max deal after his Injury.. I know kids that religiously play 2k15 that could run a franchise better than Buss

That would be so funny if he went back to Minnesota.  Then that one guy here will turn into a prophet.

Runner up: Kevin Lee opts in gets traded to the Warriors for David Lee, James Michael McAdoo, and the 30th pick.

Always remember Cleveland, buy high, sell low.

Kevin Love said many times he will return with the cavs next season, if he opts out, it is to resign the max with cleveland. The only way I don’t see him in a cavs uniform next year is if they decide to throw money at Aldridge or Marc Gasol instead of him, which would make alot of sense btw.

The only way the Cavs will have money to throw at a free agent is if Love and JR both opt out. JR already said he is likely to opt out but I don’t see him getting much more than the 7 million he was owed with his attitude and work ethic concerns. Like you said with Love the only way he would opt out is to resign with Cleveland for the max so it wouldn’t make sense for him to opt out in this situation if he wanted to stay in Cleveland because that would open the door for them to be able to go after Aldridge or Gasol.

With Varejao coming back next year they should try to find someone to take his contract off their hands and use that money to add depth on the wings. They should try to go after Wesley Matthews, Corey Brewer or Gerald Green and hope that Love and Kyrie come back healthy because they are already favorites in the East again.

Don’t see Aldridge or Gasol being better fits than Love. Alridge can’t stretch the floor like Love and Gasol wouldn’t be able to run the offense as much as he needs to on Cleveland.

Aldridge is the best midrange shooting bigman in the NBA after Dirk.  He added a 3-point game too last year and he can play in the post.  Also, he is not a liability on defence and would fit well next to Varejao.

I would trade Marc Gasol for Kevin Love and Timofy Mozgov in about 2 seconds.

You have to wonder how much the cavs really want love back. If they re-sign everyone they are going to go into unprecedented luxury tax territory. He is going to command a max deal and someone will offer it to him if the cavs don’t. His skill-set clearly isn’t utilized the best with their lineup and they are much better defensively when he’s not on the floor. I know they at least have to publicly make it seem like they want him back, considering what they had to give up to get him, but i wonder if anyone in clevelands front office would really be that distraught if another team took him off their hands. It could free up some cap space to sign some players who would be better fits.

My guess is that love opts in because what choice does he really have? His reputation would take a huge hit if he opted to play for a losing team where he could put up big stats again, and he would be labeled a selfish player forever. I’m just not sure his heart is really in Cleveland, and I’m not sure how much the cavs really want him. This just seems like a situation where neither side is really happy but they are kind of stuck with each other for the time being.

The Cavs are in an interesting situation, because they are going to have to throw huge money at Tristan Thompson who gambled on himself and won big time. Don’t see him not getting a near MAX contract after his performance in the playoffs and season he just had. Moz will be a FA next year, so maybe they do sign him and let him walk after next year, but that’s a lot to give up for a player you didn’t want to keep. He also has a good history with Blatt, so keeping both of them around would be in the Cavs best interests.

The Cavs have LeBron making around $22 mil next year, Kyrie, $16 mil, Varejoe $10 mil, Moz $5 mil, and Hayward $10 mil. That’s $63 mil in cap space right there, and they still need to sign Love at a deal greater than his $16 mil owed next year, Tristan Thompson who bet on himself and won big time, so you’re looking at a potential $13-15 mil contract for him, Delledova who was great for them needs a new contract, so a potential $3-5 mil deal for him, Shumpert who is an easy MLE money player is another $5-8 mil player.

Honestly that is an interesting situation, and one that is reminisent of the 2009-10 CLE team that LeBron was on. The Cavs are 100% capable of winning the title with that team, but again, it all comes down to whether Kyrie can stay healthy, and as presently constucted, they have no money for a decent backup PG, so it’s daunting to they go anotehr year with Kyrie/LeBron as the only people able to put the ball on the floor and make a play, with no instant offense in JR coming off the bench.

The Cavs are 100% hoping good ring chasing vets will sign for the minimun (which they undoubtedly will), and that they have no major injuries to their guard rotation. They already traded 2 future first for Mozgov, and have no real assetts to trade, so I see absolutely no way they will be able to get rid of Haywards/Varejae’s contracts unless the league has another David Khan who is willing to take on Beasley for nothing so LeBron can form another super team. Even with the Cap spiking over the next few years, I just don’t see how this team can add any pieces that will help. Thankfully for them they are already good enough to win the Ship.

I think at this point they should do a sign and trade with Love to get a good bench piece and another starter. I could see a team like the Suns and potentially the Nuggets being a good S&T partner, but would love want to go to either of those teams? Should be interesting how it unfolds going forward, because somethings for to give, whether it’s the players giving up money to play with LeBron, or the Cavs giving up key players in 2 for 1 trades. Remember guys, the cap is exploding, but it’s doing it by years, not all at once. Even in 2018 when the cap really spikes to a reported $94 mil, this CLE team would be over the CAP

A good fit for the Cavs with these currrent guys would be Chris Bosh.  He is coming off that scary illness but he can defend, block shots, and shoot 3’s.  A great guy at the 5 but you can also put him at the 4 with his post skills.

A 3 big man rotation of Bosh, Mozgov, and TT would be ideal.  Then you have Varejo back as your 4th big man.  And, of course, LeBron can and does play heavy minutes as a power forward.

The Heat can reload around Kevin Love, Dragic, and Whiteside if D Wade also takes his talents to Cleveland.

If they can get it done, Kyrie, D Wade, LeBron, Bosh, and Mozgov is my five man team.  Delly, TT, and Andy V as the main guys off the bench.  Great 8 man rotation. James Jones might be worth keeping as a spot up 3 point shooter in spot minutes.  Then get some cheap shooters and a 3rd string point guard to fill out the roster.  In the draft go after an athletic defensive-minded wing.  Either Rondae Hollis-Jefferson if he is there or Justin Anderson (3 and D) or trade down for JP Tokoto.

love is not a bad fit in cleveland..and its his best chance to win . yes he has a diminished role, and as he gets older thats smart of him. This is a team sport, just ask gsw

unless they decide they don’t want to give him what they originaly expected too give, but i find it hard to believe they would be that foolish, esp after what they gave up to get him.

I think he may end up w/ Lakers / Celtics or Knicks…being the top 3 suiters for his service..that’s assuming if he’s opting out though.
