Michael.S.Participant“bledsoe was no were to be found except when they needed a turnover.”
Yup, poor game from everyone outside of Cousins for Kentucky, even Wall….Im not mad, just disappointed. I honestly thought that John Wall would NEVER let his team lose in a game like this in the defining moments…Hopefully the first and last L…They should take this one to heart

Michael.S.ParticipantOh and BOY, that Downey dude is a chucker, phew….Fadeaway threes when he wasnt even hot? Somebody tell this guy he is not a good scorer, if thats the way he intends to score.

kaceyParticipantUK will bounce back, we needed to get smack across the head. We still have a lot to improve on and we are not at our full potential just yet. Is it a shame we lose a game right after being claimed #1? Most definitely, but even if Texas was still number 1, I still thought Carolina had a great shot of hanging with us.
I give Downey credit for making big shots, but lets remember he missed 20 other shots. I thought we were better off just backing off of him and making him shoot over us. Liggins, Wall, and Bledsoe took it as a challenge to front him, but he is way too quick. When he was forced to shoot over a bigger defender, he was off.
USC will be paying a fine for that nice little fan rush onto the court.

JNixonParticipantLike I said in the most I made the other day….Devan Downey is a BEAST. He can score unbelievably well for someone his size. And he’s the only good person on USC’s whole team

gatorheelsParticipantThis definitely shocked me. I really expected to Kentucky to lose a couple SEC road games but I didn’t think it would be this one. South Carolina was without their 2nd & 3rd best players IMO (Archie-hurt, Holmes-kicked off team). South Carolina just had more heart. Bledsoe couldn’t come close to guarding to Downey. Wall couldn’t even guard Downey but did a descent job. Cousins carried Kentucky heavily in the 1st half. Wall stepped up towards the end of the game as you would expect. Patterson is starting to take a backseat to Cousins which isn’t a good thing. Patterson has to play like he did last year. Kentucky needs his scoring & rebounding. Did Bledsoe play in this game lol? It is a terrible sign when Miller scores 0, Bledsoe 4, Patterson 5, the whole bench 7 points.
But yeah Kentucky will be bounce back.

JNixonParticipantIf you don’t think Downey is a scorer you are crazy……Did you guys watch the game against Florida the other day? He’s a monster. And he’s the only person on that whole team who’s a scoring threat. He is an unbelievable player man…

gatorheelsParticipantYeah Downey is definitely a good scorer. He leads the SEC in scoring. He was averaging 22 point per game before the game tonight. He does take a lot of shots though. He has too because South Carolina has a shortage of scorers big time.

Michael.S.ParticipantI am judging soley on this game…And from watching this game I would conclude that he is a im gonna shoot us in this game or im gonna just shoot us out of it. Anyone can take contested threes with hand in his face and shoot 10-30 to get 20something.

gatorheelsParticipant^ agree

JNixonParticipantHe has to shoot alot, but he went 12-25 Saturday at Florida for 33 points…There is more to him than just constantly shooting

Michael.S.ParticipantLike I said, im just basing my opinion on this game, the only time I have seen him play…Also, do you really want your go-to scorer to be a 5’8 combo guard that is consistently going to have to work extremely hard just to get his shot off, It did not look that easy for him to shoot over the D with those long Kentucky players all over him.

JordanC20Participantyou know…I think the Kentucky guys are getting where they don’t care if they win or lose they just want to get the season over with where they can get to the NBA. Very careless with the basketball which is not unusual for them terrible shot attempts, can’t hit a layup, and on top of that let a 5’9 guy score 30 on them when they are the tallest team in college basketball. Just a all around poor effort.

BiggysmallsParticipantWow…Kentucky loses one game and people are saying they want the season to be over and how they aren’t trying anymore. Fellas…they lost 1 game! Most of them are 18 or 19 years old. I tell ya, no Freshmen is able to play at the level they are playing for an entire season…none. Its called an upset…every team has experienced it before. It’s not the end of the world. They had a bad game and South Carolina had a good game. Its plain and simple.
Kentucky is still one the best teams in the country, and will be an extremely tough out come tourney time. They are not invincible though.

lalailaParticipantit was just really bad game for Kentucky…16points for all Kentucky players not named John Wall or DeMarcus Cousins?? no way, Patt and Bledsoe should combine 25 at least..bad game, hope they will stay at #1 because they still deserving it.

quinceyhodgesi dont think patterson played that bad. for some reason he wasnt getting touches. gotta blame that on the guards who pass it to bledsoe or dobbins before going to patterson. and just because you take alot of shots doesnt mean you are gonna score alot of points. you have to have skill. if you go out there and take that many shots im willing ot bet you dont score 30. as far as not wanting a 5’9 guy shooting alot, you want youre best player or best offensive player taking the most shots reguardless of height. if nate robinson was out there then he’s who the coach would want taking the shots. allen iverson, chris paul, shaunta rogers, val brown all were shorter then most players in college should they give the ball up more to a 6’6 guy who isnt as good? and the “they dont care they are waiting for the season to be over so they can go to the nba”..sorry but thats not how college basketball players think. they want to win every game and the title.
