So kendall dad according to twitter thinks that his team is racist because the two white players nik and tj are ahead of him. Ok first of all Kendell you are a 3rd string NBA player in a game thats suited now by spacing and shooting you dont have either. . the only reason you are still in the league today is because of two things 1. your character and how you interact with teammates, seem to be a good locker room guy. 2. because your North Carolina Connections . Having said that you are the worst guard on your team and have been with 5 nba teams in two years as a former lottery pick.

I would also play NIk infront you for one to enhance anytype of trade value and also even though hes not hitting the mark from outside, he is still labled a shooter which a defense has to be account of.

Also TJ is a hell of a defender and is pretty solid, does exactly whats needed in his time fram. and now that ish is there you are out the picture.

defender?" you can’t have watched any Sixers games…. When T.J. McConnell & Isaiah Canaan were playing at the PG & SG for Phila it was Easily the worst defensive backcourt in the history of human civilization….

Marshal has been hurt all year & just like Tony Wroten, it appears that he’s either not fully recovered or he’s lost a step….. But Phila just went out & traded for Ish Smith to start at PG…… b/c McConnell & Canaan are so bad….

Since Ish Smith returned Phila is 3 – 3 – before Ish, w/ McConnell starting at PG the Sixers were 1 – 30….

As far as Marshall’s father, if Marshal could play, he would be playing….. maybe he just needs more time to heal….

I remember reading an article about him pretty much showing all the reasons why he woudlnt be a successful PG in the NBA. A lot had to do with his lack athletisicm and shooting and pretty much in the NBA they really dont give you much space to run around and set up plays. They looked at the way he would pentrate in college and pretty much said in the NBA all those angles are cut down and its not easy for an un athletic gaurd to get by an NBA player whereas in college it wasn’t that difficult for him. We are now seeing 2 years later, what that analyst saw before he was drafted a good college PG, but sorry with a broken shot and not enough athletisicm to play in todays NBA.

he just looks really limited athletically.  I feel bad for him coming off of an ACL injury, and I liked him because I thought he was a high IQ guy that knew how to run an offense and set up his teammates….but athletically, its just not there.  He has no legs, no first step.  He is unfortunately in a league with bigger faster longer guys.  IQ can only take you so far.

McConnell plays hard, defends better, has a mildly better shot and can create his own shot at times.  He’s by far a better player.

Stauskas blows.  I feel like he has no spring in his legs and that the long NBA season just beats on him more, either that or his confidence is shot completely.  All the guy needs to do is take some space and knock down shots when he gets the easy look.  he seems like a high IQ guy…but yeah, he definitely brings more to the table than Marshall because of his shot.

Marshall’s job should be just to set up Okafor in the right spot.  Like to me its embarassing that Isiah Canaan is in the NBA…because his IQ is so poor, but hey, he can hit that shot from time to time.  Apparently, thats enoguh to keep you in the NBA.

Facilitators are a dime a dozen.  Can’t be unidimensional, must be able to score somehow, or if not, at least be a plus defender.

Those comments are ridiculous but remember his dad said them not him. He has given no inclination to think he feels that way and from what I’ve heard he has been a model teammate and hasn’t complained at all publicly about a lack of playing time. You can say what you want about him as a player, but let’s not trash the man’s character over what someone else said.

Yikes.  Kendall Marshall should never have left Carolina after his sophomore year.  Of course that would not have changed the fact that he’s too slow to be an NBA point guard.  I thought his passing ability would translate to the NBA, but obviously it hasn’t.  Should be glad he’s even still on an NBA roster.

Wroten is very athletic and can get to the hole at will and is a decent finisher, but Wroten’s IQ is terrible, flat out terrible.  Never makes the appropriate pass, classic tunnel vision.

Marshall is a smart player, problem is he’s not athletically gifted enough and the poor guy is coming off an ACL injury.  He’s a smart conductor of an offense, the problem is, this is the NBA, and you are around some really athletic people.  Unfortunately, he looks really out of shape.  Can’t get to the hole and finish, and can’t shoot.  So although he might be a very smart passer, you can’t be unidimensional in the NBA…sorry, there are too many other good players here.

I feel bad for him I thought he was going to be a stud…..but he’s not the answer, neither is Wroten, and thats what the Sixers are trying to do, find enough guys that are the answer.  Dellavadova has the IQ of Marshall and enough shooting and skill and tenacity and athleticism to make it in the NBA.  Marshall just doens’t have it.

never said they were the same player. Just saying that roster spot should be Wrotten’s over Marshall. Wrotten can at least put the ball in the hoop even though he has tunnel vision. With careful watch over his minutes, he can be a better contributer to the team than Marshall. Just have to have him on a leash.

The father should have spent mroe time rebounding the ball for his son while he practiced his shooting.  Marshall can’t shoot, so McConnell plays more because his shooting this season is acceptable plus his passing is close to Marshall’s.

Anyway, Ish Smith is there now and ahead of all of them.

Stauskas is struggling with his shot, but his numbers are still better than Marshall’s.  The father may not like him, but Stauskas was a higher pick than Marshall and deserves a logner look at his second team while Marshall had his second NBA chance a long time ago.

76ers should waive Marshall, and should have kept Wroten, but should bring in an old veteran point guard.  Signing Elton Brand is something that has to help, and another veteran for the guards would be good too.

You wonder what would’ve happen had the Lakers not cut him so they could bring in Jeremy Lin and Carlos Boozer. Or if that happened anyways and the Bucks never picked him up first before the Lakers could sign him back again.

If you guys watch highlights of Kendall’s pretty decent run with the Lakers, he had a nice burst that can get him past defenders and into the lane, but he’s clearly lost a step in what was already a slow step for NBA standards. Without the ability to make any kind of penetration, Marshall’s vision is pretty much useless. Hopefully he can get that step back.

What is perplexing about all this, is that Dennis Marshall’s wife is white.  Really dumb tweets, and unfortunately very damaging to his son’s image now.

Loved what Kendall did at UNC, but I think his days are numbered with the injury and now his father acting stupid.  No coach is going to want to put up with that.
