FastAndFuriousParticipantSeriously people are still talking about Jimmer and Nolan possibly winning player of the year.
What else does Kemba have to prove? He is hands down the winner to me at this point.

Mario88ParticipantWe all know race will play a factor in this, jus like ben hansborough got big east player of the year on a senior dominated notre dame team, clearly walker got robbed.

konqueredParticipantLove how seth davis keep saying on twitter walker wont let uconn lose and how he is going to will uconn to a win. Someone tell me how exactly did kemba keep Derrick Williams and Jamelle Horne from missing wide open threes in the last 10 seconds (both of them combined for 47% three point shooting ). He’s good but overhyped. Arizona three point shooting doomed them that game shooting 4 out of 21 when they average over 40% for the season.

FastAndFuriousParticipantWho’s overhyped?

lakanoParticipant@konquered
I dont think overhyped is the word you wanted to use. Maybe after Maui you could have said that, possibly even after the season, if you said it after they won 5 games in 5 days I would just tell you that your wrong, but at this point you are Absolutely wrong all hype he recieves at this point is well deserved.

FastAndFuriousParticipantI was hoping he wasn’t saying Kemba was overhyped…….
He took a unranked team into Maui that had the #2, and #10 team there and you beat BOTH of those teams and also averaged 30 PPG 4 APG and 6 RPG
Then you tear the Big East up and not to mention you were predicted to finish 13TH out of 16TH at the beginning of the year…And end up WINNING the entire conference doing it by winning 5 GAMES in 5 DAYS!!!
Averaging 26 PPG 5 APG and 6.4 RPG
Ok now we are at the tournament and the whole world is witnessing what he is doing and if Kentucky beats North Carolina and history has a chance to repeat itself that means UCONN goes to the championship game meaning…
Kemba took an unranked squad that is very young and turned them into the best team in the land……..
How is that overrated?

JBrace19ParticipantThe only reason Jimmer is going to win it is becuase of how he pretty much single handedly carried his team for this season, and more specifically since Davies went out. But i agree Kemba has proved himself worthy of Player of the Year.

jaysmith1987ParticipantOverated not even close he’s a junior playing like a senior uconn would be in nit without himand now there in final four with good chance to win it he is the best player because he is winning with a suspect team.

llperezi thought derrick williams looked like the more impactful player tonight then kemba. He had the same points in 16 less minutes.

FastAndFuriousParticipantDerrick Williams hasn’t played 9 games against top level competition in 19 days either….
Whether Kemba and UCONN want to admit it or not they are TIRED!
This week off will do them some good.

llperezif kemba doesnt like playing 9 games in 19 days, then good luck to him at the next level.

NbanflguyParticipantYeah idk how people can say they are tired. These are 19-22 year old athletes in the best shape of their live’s.
Its not like they are playing two games in one day or anything.

TallmanNYCParticipantThey aren’t super tired, because they are young and in great shape, but anyone is going to feel the effects of playing back to back games. I remember when I was in college, I jumped a little higher if I hadn’t practiced or played the day before. Even then it took me a good 48 hours to really fully recover from either a tough practice or a tough game.
I’m sure Nolan is not in the running for Player of the Year. Only Kemba and Jimmer are. Kemba would win "Player of March" but I’ve got to say that the entire year really belonged to Jimmer.

Twolvesfan4lifeParticipantKemba is the best point guard in the nation hands down…
