HoopLandParticipantWhat’s the deal with Oubre? He was suppose to come in to KU and make KU not miss Wiggins too much.

apb540ParticipantI don’t think he was supposed to make KU miss Wiggins at all. Wiggins was the "prize" of his class, while Oubre was ‘only’ a top 10 recruit.

Chilbert arenasParticipantI would love to take credit for pointing out his poor body launguage and attitude during the mcdonalds and jordan classic games, but no one could see this little PT and production coming.

Lotto StudParticipantI’ve brought reference to this in a few Oubre posts. I’m glad that you came out of hiding because I couldn’t remember who mentioned it at the time.

ChewyParticipanttalent wise both Oubre and Russell were similar coming out of high school. Even though I thought D was more of a shooter and Kelly was more of a slasher, they both showed both in HS.
It’s shocking to see the early season discrepency between the two players productions.
I still believe in Oubre. Self knows how to develop players with strong (sometimes harmful) personalities.

MopgrassParticipantOther than attitude and trying to shoot too much, I think slashing is his biggest weak spot. He often tried to, but had fight really hard to drive. It’s gonna be harder in college and much harder in pro.

RUDEBOY_Participantin high school he played sort of a combo forward..he used his superior athleticism to dominate…he have yet to develope the perimeter skills to play guard ..plus he doesnt seem to have a high basketball iq..
leaving for the nba after this season will be a huge mistake..another year to continue improving his perimeter skills will due him good..becuz he does have talent,it just needs molding..

Memphisboy14ParticipantI think that he still has to grow as a player. At this point he can either do the best he can’t to show that he wants to be great and wants to work hard to earn his PT. He’s extremely talented but he needs to learn how to play the right way. I hope that he uses this as a wake up call that he’s not nearly as good as he thought he was. Could either help him or cause him to join a long line of guys who had a huge amount of hype but ended up fizzling out in college. (Myck Kabongo, James McAdoo, Ryan Harrow, LeBryan Nash, CJ Leslie, Adonis Thomas, Deuce Bello, Rodney Purvis, Alex Poythress)
