Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantHe’s got enormaous hands, only 5% body fat, good standing reach, and a solid wingspan.
Anybody think he can crack the top 5 and maybe go to Toronto? Kawhi, DeMarr, and Jerryd could be one of the most athletic young backcourts in the league.
I’ve also read some teams want to work him out at shooting guard. Thoughts on him?

MagikKnickParticipantHes projected to be where he is based on the physical abilities we know he has…he just lacks the offensive skill to really be a top 5 draft pick

PaulsJayhawksParticipantI think the Raps might be looking at next years draft to grab a 3 man (Barnes,Jones,Gilchrist) or via free agency (Green,W. Chandler). Unless they trade down to get hiim I don’t think he is theri pick imo.

BKKnicksfanParticipantI think he should be late lotto, I don’t see the offensive skills to be a top 5 pick. I think a team like Milwaukee, Charlotte and Houston are all good fits for him because they preach defense first.

PrecociousNeophyteParticipantI don’t know why Toronto would take him they already have DeMar that plays the SG position and I don’t think he can play small forward. Also IMO somebody that you take in the top 5 is someone that you are going to build around and if he went to Toronto he would just be coming off the bench behind DeMar.
He can be a pretty good rebounding guard in the league because he has proved that he can go get rebounds at the college level and his huge hands will enable him to corral in rebounds that would get ripped away from other players.
I like him at 8 to the Pistons because McGrady and Gordon are not long term solutions. He needs to work on his shooting even though Chad Ford said he was killing it in Las Vagas there was no one covering him. I do not know if he will ever be able to shoot though because of his hands just look at guys like Rajon Rondo.

bshear2ParticipantAs a Wizards fan I found it weird how whatever mock draft was on the espn bottom line during the combine had him going number 6. I would love for them to get that type of player but I feel number 6 is way too high for what I would consider a role player. What comparison would be his best case scenario? I see Gerald Wallace maybe?

omphalosParticipantI think Leonard would actually be a great fit in Toronto if they can get a C in free agency; he would serve as a stopper/hustler next to DeRozan’s scoring. Might be a bit of a reach at 5, but Toronto can’t afford another year in the early lottery, so this might be their best chance to get a quality SF.

B-ball fanParticipantFYI, Charlotte had the best defense in the league during the regular season two years ago. They aren’t a good offensive team, but they do preach defense first.

R-Dot-13ParticipantI have him at 6 to the Wizards.
I don’t see a lot of "stars" in this draft anyway, and there are a lot of role players anyway. And he’s a guy that just does everything well, but offensively nothing great. But he would really help out with defense, and rebounding, and handling the ball, while Wall/Crawford do most of the backcourt scoring. He doesn’t need to be asked to score much, and just do all the other things. I think he’s a real good fit.

KayjayParticipantCould fall to my kings. And if he does, I think we’ll have a hard time NOT picking him up. The SF position is very unproductive. And is a true issue besides just a floor general. Depends though.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantI believe he is a lot like Gerald Wallace. His offensive game isn’t very good but neither was Crash’s early in his career

ghettosermonParticipantI doubt he cracks the top 5 but he’s a lottery lock. I have heard teams who are really high on Chris Singleton as a defensive stopper but I prefer Leonard a lot more on the next level because of his quickness. I think in this years draft he is a great option in the 6-13 range. He immediately will be one of your best defenders and will get 8-10 points a game purely on hustle, slashing and crashing the glass. Every successful team needs a guy like him I think he’s worth every penny of a lottery pick. Teams in the lottery often waste picks because they feel like they need to get "potential" i.e Saer Sene, Robert Swift, Patrick O’bryant, etc, when they are passing up potentially on quality starters like Leonard.

bksmithParticipantI agree witht he last two posts. His quickness and athleticism are going to be very beneficial for him on the next level. He is only 19 (he turns 20 in June) so he has plenty of time to work on his jumpshot. He just seems to have the dedication to the defensive end that very few players do.
If Toronto doesn’t want him and Washington doesn’t want him I hopes that he falls to 12 and hte Jazz can pick him up. If the Jazz were able to land Knight and Leonard with Milsap, Favors and Gordy they would have a great young team.
