Kawhi! How the hell does you get paid $20 Million to play basketball in the NBA, you extend your injury return date by half a year demand a trade and during all of this you dont do a single interview to address nothing. Lol. Thats gotta void some sorta contract. This dude is bullying the NBA for real.

Everyone swarms to the athlete who constantly rants in front of the camera because it makes great for press, but I actually love Kawhi Leonard’s personality. He does not step outside of his comfort zone to become a people-pleaser; believe it or not, but this man has paved a way for the up-and-coming muted athletes that possess star power. Derrick Rose was just as shy until they put him under the scope. The difference is that Kawhi will not bend, nor break; he has nothing to prove. What’s in the dark will surface; hence the Danny Green injury.

So random, but I must know… What’s the ticket on a “throwback” DeRozan jersey in the area since he is off the books?

im legit tired of people criticizing players for doing what’s best for them and not being robotic like they slaves. The players who make the teams and owners millions but don’t hold management to the same standard when it comes to Loyalty. Like in that same breath you chose not to mention the biggest most nutty thing which is on the reverse side so it’s cool in the way management handled demar! In that same breath it would kill me if a player did that on the sixers, but they are people. Man has a real life he don’t owe a camera an explanation so we the people can create our own opinion anyway!

See I’m not attacking Kawhi. I just think its funny. Defenitely not a knock on him or his character. These guys have probably begged his agent, friends, family and everyone "come on Kawhi just one interview please". On the other hand you see what loyalty gives you like in Demars case.

I swear its in the contract that all NBA players have to be available to the media upon the request though. Thats whats so confusing to me.

Players don’t have to be made available if they are on IR.

When Kawhi was 16 his dad was murdered . Maybe That could’ve affected how he responds to the public. But his lack of communication skills makes it seems like he lacks intelligence.

Just listened to interview with David Robinson the other day who is very close with spurs organization still. He said the spurs are the most criticized team in league for resting guys during the season giving guys games off and limiting minutes. And truth is, that’s kind of undeniable. Now that doesn’t mean kawhi was good to go, but the spurs have defenitely established good history for looking out for players.

Other thing Robinson said was he took active role in trying to reach out and communicate with players and he said he never saw someone so quiet and distant as kawhi and that he could count on one hand the number of words kawhi said to him over the years, apparently dude just doesn’t talk. David also said it was very hard to be on same page with kawhi for the organization and that bad blood between the two might have popped up because kawhi doesn’t communicate

I honestly think Kawhi was tired of being roasted by not talking. It was a running joke that he didn’t have a personality. For someone who’s super quiet, friendly ribbing can feel like personal attacks.

I can’t pass judgement on his behaviour or what he supposedly said because I have no idea what is true. I have not heard him say shit to anyone. I hope if I’m ever charged for anything he’s the only witness.

I don’t have a problem with athletes doing what’s best for them, but I do have a problem with people who don’t honour contracts, whether that is a team or player. I don’t believe Kawhi has honoured the obligations of his contract. If a team cuts a player, they have to pay him out. Kawhi just cut the spurs for a whole season and he doesn’t have to pay anything back. He’s been healed for a while, he just saw an opportunity to force the Spurs hand.

I don’t get why people bash him for not talking. The media and fans kill people like Odell, LeBron (at times), KD and Embid for speaking up, speaking out of speaking often. Like they doing to much. Just play ball. Now they get that one player who lets his camp or agent do the talking and he’s a "jerk", "bully"or "disrespctful". If he did talk people would dissect every word he say or try tyo flip his words. The media would take sound bites and try to make him look a certain way. He not talking so he let the fans and media run wild with stories and he just chilling. You will really never knkow his next move because he don’t want ya to. I respect that.

Yea, Kawhi Leonard is definitely a different type of dude. I’m not about to analyze the dude’s personality like I’m a therapist, psychologist or something.

He clearly wasn’t happy and lost faith in the Spurs organization. Who knows what really went wrong? Sometimes things just don’t work out and both parties need to go in different directions. That situation is behind him now.

Hopefully, everything works out for him with the Raptors and he can have more growth as a person/player. I made a post not too long ago saying I’d be shocked if Leonard resigned, BUT that was based on media reports, etc. You really can’t go off of those when it comes to Leonard lol.

I just want to see him 100% healthy and back on the floor. He’s a top three player in the league in my eyes.
