Last night, in a losing effort against Utah, Towns had 32 points and 12 rebounds, granted I didn’t watch the game but reading the post game recap I came away more impressed with what he said than his actual box score.

"I played like crap today,I didn’t play well defensively. Offensively, I was just finding spots. My teammates were the ones that got me points. I didn’t get myself points. When I tried to make something for myself I was missing layups, missing shots. My teammates are the ones that made the stat sheet. I didn’t."

For just a rookie he already sounds like a veteran, and a winner. Looking like the next Tim Duncan.

I appreciate very well-spoken players especially rookies in the NBA and Towns is one of them. Really polite and does a good job of getting his thoughts across even during pre-draft interviews. D’angelo Russell is also one who could speak well in front of the media, as well as Jabari Parker from the prevous draft class.

Knows he must make his teammates better not just catch and shoot. This kid is a franchise cornerstone. I enjoy watching him play. He has to quarterback the D better but he has the desire learn.

He seems well grounded and it’s good that he appreciates that the team lost even though he had one of the best scoring games of his career.

He is on a team which is developing and one we would expect to start turning potential into results in due course but there isn’t immediate pressure yet. The team can develop together and with a legit chance of another top 5 pick this year add yet more talent to the roster.

Guys like Towns also have KG and Prince two of the driven NBA players in recent times who would give everything toi try and make their teams win in the locker room to mentor and guide them. KG of course is one of the greatest bigs ever and will hopefully have taken Towns under his wsing, discuss his performances with him, break down things he has seen and where Towns can improve etc.

A lot of this will happen away from the locker room and training. Hopefully on roadtrips Towns would seek out KG or vice versa and KG passes on sound advice to him etc.

Legit shot at a 50/40/90 season. Would be remarkable even if he wasn’t a rookie center.

He’s awesome. Even better than I think anybody realistically thought he’d be at this point. All the hype on Porzingis because of the market – and he’s been good certainly- but Towns could be very well on his way to a Tim Duncan esque career. Thats a great comparison for him.

Now the hope is that the Twolves can finally build something around a star player. Towns fits the NBA as well as anyone. He can shoot the three and has a great post game and can anchor a defense. He should be the star of the team in the future and wiggins should develop into a very good second option.

I’ve watched almost every Wolves game and the thing I was most impressed was his post game and moves. Before the draft everyone was talking about how his post game was so raw and that Okafor was much better in the post. Not saying Okafor isn’t good, but Towns was way more further along in his post moves than advertised. He’s fun to watch and can’t wait to see him and Wiggins and LaVine really develope together. Really curious to see who we take with probably another top 4 pick.

in this years draft who would fit the wolves the best as far as building around Towns? Assume we get the 1st pick, it would be tough to pass on Simmons, I don’t think he would be the best fit for right now. A 3 point shooter would be ideal Ingram?! Or Buddy ( hard to take Buddy 1st overall)

    what do you guys think?

Kris Dunn would be a great fit. Time to end the Rubio experiment.

lakesideben I agree 100 percent, I like Rubio but I’m just sick of watching him, in 5 years he’s accomplished nothing but excuses.

Im gonna be honest I didnt think he was an Anthony Davis type of prospect in college, but when regular season started in the NBA I changed my mind quickly, I have watched ALL his game highlights on Youtube and caught him on air several times. He been showing nothing but greatness. I anticipated him shooting threes, in a convo with Trex I told him that KAT was gonna start shooting threes (KAT taking .1 3PA at the time), not lying, right after i said that, he started taking 3-4 threes a ame.

The moves he does, the enthusiasm he shows is really elite. And he is so constant too!

Karl Anthony Towns is now, after a little over a half a season, my vote to become the next Best Player in the League after Steph Curry. He has every skill Anthony Davis has, more size and strength, and better mechanics. Sometimes I feel Davis’s freakish length are what helps him create space, a la Durant in college. Watching KAT, his handles would work for a player 6-8 inches shorter. His footwork is great, he got soft hands, range, defensive timing and instincts, and wants to be great. If it wasnt for Porzingis existing in the league, the media would be all over this baby faced monster that has been unleashed upon the league.

This guy had one of the most efficient defensive seasons of all time at Kentucky last year. The anchor of a top 5 defense of all time. On the Olympic team, he played more of a stretch four role. He’s showing at the NBA level that he can do it all and more. A 25-13-3 season with a steal and 2 blocks, shooting 55-40-90 is actually possible for this kid. He and NBA 2K created character. The talent in the NBA is getting absurd.
