aziatic41ParticipantAm I the only one that thinks K.J. McDaniels is a bubble lottery pick ? Don’t understand how nbadraft.net has him going in the second round. As a 6’6 wing this guy can defend multiple positions and is probably the most athletic player in the draft with tremendous upside. I mean this guy was the Defensive Player of the Year in the ACC as a perimeter player. That is a great accomplishment. He also led Clemson in just about every statistical category. I see this guy being able to help any team instantly and especially on the defensive end where it is very hard to find lock-down perimeter defenders in this era of basketball in the NBA. Those type guys are valuable. Ex. Khawi Leonoard

BallinmvpParticipantI don’t think he is a lottery pick but he definitely should be a 1st rounder. He can be really good though

he_gets_bucketsParticipantHe needs to go to a place where he can develop and be part of a system, like how Kawhi did. If Kawhi doesn’t go to the Spurs tthen he wouldnt of developed the same. KJ needs to go to a place with culture and a strong development system to reach the potential he has.

r377ParticipantHe is listed as 6"6. The guy is super athletic but hasn’t got a great shot. Is he a SG or SF ? Will he be too small to play SF full time in this league ? If not can his shot get better to play SG ?

TheLastWordParticipantHe is too light to guard most SFs. I think you take him as an elite sized SG and hope like crazy he develops NBA 3 range.

druneave3ParticipantI am a huge fan of his and would take him ahead of several players who are in the middle first or even late lottery like you say. I’ll take Jimmy Butler over JR Smith and I would take McDaniels over James Young. Like Pop says, "we draft guys who are over themselves."

bballnowParticipantHe only measured 6 “4 1/2 at the combine, IMO that’s to small for SF in the NBA. Does he have the skills to play SG? I like his game but think is size and ability will make him a bottom 1st rounder.

aziatic41ParticipantHe’s 6’6 straight up. I watched him play several times this year. And yes he is more of a SG than a SF. Clemson ran set plays for this guy to take his man one on one off the bounce. And his jumpshot is legit. He has nice form and mechanics. So my answer is yes this guy can be a productive SG in the NBA. On a below average talent-wise Clemson team, he still averaged double figures while being the only scoring threat and teams game planning against him.
