how many years left does Kobe have to still compete at an elite level in the NBA?

Honestly I think 5 or 6 still. With his work ethic he won’t decline as fast as others. Plus he has so many moves to score and is so crafty he doesn’t need his athleticism to be a good player.

Yeah true, I guess it depends on your definition of elite. In 5 years I think he will be top 10 still.

    like…32?
I’ll go with …at 35, we’ll see him drop off. What a joy it is to watch though. 🙂

If You See his Work Ethic , and how he prepares for a season………..this guy seems like he will play for 20 more years but realistically i think he has 5 or 6 more years left……bu remember jordan scored 50 once and he was 38 years old, kobe can probably beat that age

Look at players like Vince Carter, and T-Mac, both of whom were once amongst the best player in the game. They never adjusted their game like Kobe has, they relied too much on their athleticism, and look at them now. Both struggle to stay healthy, and are nowhere near once they were 5 years ago.

The older Kobe has gotten, the better, and wiser he’s gotten to adjust his game to his body’s capabilities.
Now keep in mind that Kobe has been in the league since the age of 17.

I will probably get some rowdy in this topic, but this is where the Kobe/Jordan comparison’s come to fruition. Work ethic/Basketball IQ very similar to Jordan’s.

As long as he has a stellar supporting cast, it will make it easier to play at an elite level

Kobe is playing less season minutes than he has in the past. If they Laker can get his to 35 or 34 minutes a game in the regular season I could see him playing the way he is not for 4 years and maybe the 5 and 6 year he is more a jump shooter and his defense will be average instead of great.

You have to remember that Kobe entered the league at 18, so he has played a couple more years than the average 32 year old veteran

I agree with a lot you with the statement that Kobe has 5 or 6 solid years left, but i don’t know if he’ll play 5 or 6 more, he has a great work ethic and conditioning regiment, but I don’t see Phil with the Lakers in 6 years, and i doubt a great like Kobe is going to want to go through another rebuilding stage or start over with a new coach, I have no doubt that Kobe can produce late in his career, but i don’t think he chooses to do so, i see him packing it in at 35 or 36
