That everyone saw this play from last night. There was obviously been other plays like this before where a player has thrown an off the backboard alley oop to themself. Although I don’t think i’ve seen one that happened between the basket and free throw line. Check it out..

I was at the game, with a GREAT angle to see the dunk (at an angle behind the backboard).  Best in game dunk I have ever seen in person.  The crowd went nuts.  … I thought to myself, man, JJ is about to throw himself an alley-oop off the glass.  Then he pulls it off.  MONSTER DUNK.

Must have been a fun game to go to, as well as them getting the win. James Johnson also had a very nice dunk over Hedo in that game.

    Hacker,

We got something to eat before the game, so we missed James Johnson’s first dunk.  JJ and Tony Allen will be able to wreak havoc off the bench.

Our bench destroyed the Clippers’ bench.  LA has a great starting five but their bench is pretty bad.

JJ has had several mind blowing dunks with the Memphis…

This has become 1 of the nba better, but least talked about rivaries….Blake & CP3 are 2 players fans in Memphis hate the most..CP3 becuz he every since his New Orleans days he’s been a thorn in their side..And Blake becuz of the battles between him and Z Bo…..

Johnson has rejuvenated himself since becoming a Grizzlies..He’s gained so much confidence and seems to have developed a passion and joy for playing the game..I guess it comes from bouncing from team to team and spending time n the D-League…

His numbers are about the same as his career averages, thats becuz he’s playing behind alot of frontcourt players..But now he’s playing with confidence, his energy, athleticism and defensive hustle  is something they really needed..He was one the reasons why Memphis was trying hard to rid themselves of Tayshaun Prince, but couldnt find a deal they wanted….If everyone stays healthy, they could be one of the most feared teams once again in the West…

JJ has always shown flashes of potential but has never stuck with a team for very long or shown consistency In his game. Glad to see his blossoming in Memphis. Defensively he’s a handful and can be a stat stuffer if his offensive game continues to develop he could be a great addition to any roster.

i really like the way James Johnson is playing for the griz. he has found a niche with them. after bouncing around the league, its nice to see him contribute and always seem to make an impact whenever he’s in the court. he had the skills before he just cannot put it together. he worked hard on his ball-handling and shooting. i think he is also a step quicker than before. more bounce and really showing that athleticism. and he plays good defense too. there were games where he had 2+ steals and 2+ blocks in limited minutes. he is actually playing better than Prince. lol
