Ibaka. Perkins cannot guard Dirk, mainly because of his mid range game.

There’s no doubt that at times Durant will be on Dirk just as he’s been on Zach Randolph at times who is much more of a post player. Ibaka though is definitely the primary defender on Dirk and Collison when he sits out. Perkins lacks the quickness to stay with Dirk and obviously you want him and Nazr to body up Chandler and Haywood on the offensive glass.

I like Durant but he is three inches shorter than a guy with an impecably high release, so that is an option, but I dont think it will work. Perkins is too slow, and Nowitzki will eat him for dinner. Ibaka seems like a good option, but it will take a great defensive effort to slow down Nowitzki

Dirk has trouble with athletic players smaller then him
I remember Stephen Jackson putting in good work against dirk in that GS dallas series
Too bad the thunder don’t have those type of players
Out of all the forwards I can see ibaka doing something and maybe collison

Dirk is shooting 60% from the 3 point range in the playoffs so far and Ibaka, although athletic and long, is a post defender not a guy who is effective chasing around a guy off screens 25 feet away from the goal.

Thabo Sefolosha is 6’7” top notch perimeter defender who is long and is much faster than Dirk.  Marion is their small forward who is more of a post player at this point in his career and Deshawn Stevenson is not an offensive threat.  I’m sure Thabo, being their best perimeter defender, will guard Dirk at times on the perimeter and if Dirk takes the game to the block then he’ll get doubled.

Dirk is a great offensive threat, and OKC doesn’t have that one guy to stop him.  It’s gonna be a group effort for sure, but Thabo is going to play a big part in that.  I’m surprised no one has mentioned him yet.

But first they gotta win tomorrow.

I dont think that you should be worrying about that, because i dont think that okc-mavs will be playing next year in playoffs… 😀
