Lotto StudParticipant- New York-You may not see it but I do! Experience is the best teacher. Right now he is learning from Billups at camp so it would not be nothing for him to take Selby under his wing & mold him.
- Charlotte-No legitimate scoring guard on the bench at all. MJ may want to consider.
- Minnesota-They have Johnson at the 2, but how long will he stay there. No production from Ellington at all & Webster’s play has went downhill.
- Portland-You may scratch your head, because he is Bayless 2.0 & they got rid of him. Roy career is on the decline & they will need instant offense from the guard spot which Selby can bring. Matthews is more of a 3 IMO.
- New Jersey-Won’t be a starter here, but again he can learn under a True PG in DWill. Upgrade over majority of the guards that we have as backups.
- Chicago-Not the 2 they need, but anything is possible when they have 2 1st Rounders.

JNixonParticipantHe may land in the 1st round, but he will probably will catch a bunch of splinters no matter where he gets picked. It’s not really a matter of where you get picked, as opposed to how good you become. Him getting picked in round 1 or 2 just means he has a roster spot that may or may not be guaranteed. I doubt a man who had his minutes taken from him by the likes of Brady Morningstar and Tyrel Reed will play much in the NBA, definitely not anytime soon. If he does get picked in the 1st round, it will just show that HS hype is worth something nowadays. Because he did nothing to warrant a 1st round pick.

shangrilaParticipantSo if he does play at all next year it would have to be for a team that needs a scoring 1. New York makes sense but I agree with JNixon; he’s going to spend a fair amount of time on the bench, at least for most of the season.

Pro-21ParticipantThe league is currently dominated by super-fast athletic pg/sgs and selbys ability to create offense will translate much better to the nba, especially with the handchecking rule, and he can shoot a lil’ bit too….he wasn;t himself at Kansas…give him time

Cardinal_FanParticipantIm sorry im just not sold on Selby as a PG yet, i dont he has ever played the position. He was a 2 in high school and college. An honestly the play of Russell Westbrook probably isnt helping his cause imo.

Andrew1984ParticipantI’m a big fan of Josh Selby. I think he’s a cross between Roddy B. and what DaJuan Wagner could’ve been if it weren’t for injuries. I’d love to call him a Monta Ellis, but his stroke isn’t as consistent as Monta’s was coming out of Lanier HS in Jackson, Mississippi.
I think Selby is a natural scorer and should play the two-guard, even if he’s only 6-3. I hate how draftniks always try to force undersized scorers into a PG role because of their lack of height. Let a scorer score!
I think Selby will eventually be one of the top 10 players in this draft class, it just may take four years to fully blossom. I’d like to see him in New Jersey/Brooklyn. Deron Williams’ future there is somewhat uncertain and the Nets could definitely use some scoring punch. Plus, he’s from Baltimore which isn’t far from there.

JoeWolf1I agree with Iggy as far as Selby goes,
@shangrila, If he’s not a 2, then why did he workout with the Shooting Guards at Chicago? If he was truly a PG then wouldn’t that be the prime time to do drills with them and prove he belonged?
He’s a 6’2” SG with a 42” vert and a streaky shot, if his name wasn’t Josh Selby or if this were 2012 or 2013, he’d be a lock for the mid 2nd round.

Sports Tears In Our BeersParticipantWe like him at #20 for Minnesota. He didn’t look great in college, but he started late. Hope is that he will turn it on come NBA time. Hey, Harrison Barnes started out slow and now people would love to see him in Timberwolves blue.
