rtbtParticipantIs he a coach on the rise because of his incredible recruiting skills which were clearly documented in your article? However, recruiting is only part of the equation. Does he have the requisite leadership and coaching skills to become an elite coach?

QHaynes20I used the Memphis Kansas game at the end of the article. I believe Paster has the pedigree to be a great coach. He brought in some good recruits and with a bare cupboard now, he took Kansas to the brink in the 1st game.
Yea, he’s still learning this team and that results in losses but I see nothing but success from hear on out.

JNixonParticipantHe did show good coaching ability in that Kansas game, which is the only Memphis game I saw this year..and he is possibly the best recruiter out there right now so I would say from the little bit I’ve seen this year, yes he is a coach on the rise.
But he needs to find out how to use Wesley Witherspoon effectively…he has the ability to be a matchup nightmare for teams, but he played him at PF where his lack of strength and post skills was very pronounced, therefore limiting his effectiveness on both ends. He could develop into the best perimeter defender in college basketball if he played PG or SG more. He’s just not very polished on offense on the perimter though in terms of shooting an whatnot…but I thInk he can be a good prospect as a potential terror on D in the NBA…

QHaynes20I agree. I think he needs a 3 Guard system.
Elliot Williams, Wesley Witherspoon and Robert Saluie.

JNixonParticipantI’m going to watch them play more, because Sallie seems like he slowly takes them out of games by shooting too much…he did have a big NCAA tourny last year though, so maybe he just had an off-night against Kansas.

L.ShapParticipantNice read, I totally agree with Pastner being a coach on the rise. Remember, no coach would be anything without recruits, NOBODY!
