I like the Leonard/Butler comparison on the site, I think it fits well, but does anyone else see a little Scottie Pippen in Josh Jackson? I def feel he is the number 1 pick, I just hope the knicks win the lottery and grab him. Every championship team needs a player like Josh Jackson.

I see a poor man’s MJ more than a Pippen. Pippen was more of a playmaker for other guys.

One of the biggest draws to him besides his defensive potential is his playmaking ability for a guy his size so not really sure what you mean

Hold on a minute back on March the first I made an Article on Why the celtics will draft him first overall or trade that pick, and I got -17 on it everyone was saying Fultz and Lonzo are the best prospects in the draft, But now this site has Josh Jackson going no1 overall…This is bullshit no one agreed with what I said then, and now you are all saying the same thing I  said about Josh Jackson

Reminds me of Marvin Williams, but unlike Williams, will be able to grow in a league that doesn’t look down on tweeners. Marvin coming out had the same stregths, the same weaknesses, and the same crazy potential. Marvin never reached his, I think Jackson will fair better.

I think it depends on what team drafts him. Boston would maximize his potential more than any other lottery team.

I dont think he ever gains the bulk that Kawhi Leonard or Jimmy Butler has. I think of as more of a Leonard/Wiggins kind of hybrid player. The key to this conparison though is his abillity to improve which he showed during his freshman year because as things currently stand he is not a franchise player and shouldnt be expected to lead a team. by any means.

I see Iguodala a lot. Ball-handling, vision, athleticsm and the lack of shooting.

The Knicks need to go full rebuild around Porzingas and maybe this years pick if they want to try give the trianlge a legit shot….If they lucked onto Josh Jackson that would be a good place to start for them and maybe trade mello for any young assets you can get..

As for player comparrisons its hard to say I think the Wiggins or Maybe Leonard(ceiling) could be fair but I could also see a player Like  Jimmy Butler/Avery bradley(if he plays SG) being a fair comp.. It all really depends on that jumper of his as I didn’t see to many highlights of that as most of his points seem to come off well time put backs, close range shots and Dunks…

What I mean by this is the following:

If Jackson is forced to play sg not sf at the next level:

Minus the handles(avery had better ones at this point) The both seem to have good instinct on the defensive end,Both have a/had a reasonable amount of bounce at the highschool level,Both had a jumper which isn’t fully broken but needs a little tightening to take the next step to be reliable and both seem like good team players who work well in a team system…Watch avery bradley official hoopmixtape on youtube and it sort of shows what i am implying.

The safe pick to what he turns into is celing Wiggins/Leonard/Butler but the floor could honestly be someone like an  Avery Bradley.

The consensus comparisons for Josh seem to be Kawhi and Jimmy Butler, Josh is of course a much better prospect than they were when they were drafted and Jimmy’s current level may be seen as Josh’s NBA scoring upside.

I don’t quite get the Marvin Williams comparison as Marvin was always a combo forward whilst Josh is more a swingman IMO. Marvin was a very hyped guy who was drafted mainly on upside and despite never living up to his star billing has carved out a decent NBA career over 12 seasons and has another 3 years left on his deal. He could possibly have drifted down rosters and eventually out of the league but turned himself into a good role playing starter at Charlotte and is a key member of their team.

He didn’t have elite athleticism and wasn’t a great scorer.   He could do little things well and had an NBA body.   He was drafted during the time NBA Teams (mostly the Hawks) tried to replicate LeBron James in the draft with a 6’8-6’9 athletic SF that can do everything on the court.   Ended up with a lot of players that weren’t able to live up to the draft stock.   With that said, Jackson doesn’t play like Marvin Williams.

Josh has elite level athleticism and able to play lock down defense.   He’s not bulking and not much of a scorer currently, but knows when to pick his spots.   Which I think he was forced to do in that offense at KU like Wiggins.    I don’t like the Jimmy or Leonard comparisons because it’s lazy.   He’s not mechanical like those guys.   I think the Tracy McGrady (entering the league) is best.   Tracy COULD play defense, but never did it consistently.
