I’m happy on his development. He looks like a real leader out there. Sharing the ball and scoring when it matters. He better get some playing time next season.

He is what a 3 and D player should be. Not those 3 and D players who are only strictly 3 point shooters and provide nothing else on offense in terms of skill. Hart can attack close-outs, has a good mid-range game and has impressive finishing ability around the rim. He is much more than just a spot-up shooter.

Also got some spot starts at PG last season when Ball was out and played well. Seems like the type of guy thats always gonna keep improving.

He looked like a steal last year for the 30th pick and the way he looks in summer league I’m very encouraged. Wouldn’t be surprised if he pushed Caldwell pope for that starting at spot before long.

Personally I would prefer Hart over KCP as he is a) more of a team player who fits better in the sytem L.W wants to run and b) He has a better skills set and I.Q than KCP will ever have…

However will he start? Who knows as the only position is locked down is Lebrons everyone else is up for grabs and we may even see Lonzo and one of Ingram or Kuzma off the Bench..

I assume Josh Hart starts. They keep talking about surrounding LeBron with guys that can create offense while LeBron posts up. KCP can’t create anything. If Magic is mentioning Hart starting (he is), it’s probably happening. They’re talking about Lonzo Ball being aggressive. Probably to help LeBron. The big question is center. McGee passes. That might help LeBron. Zubac is the most skilled. But I think they want Moritz Wagner to be the guy. He can spread the floor, plays hard, rebounds, runs the floor, supposedly has a post up game (didn’t look amazing in summer league), and he can catch rocket passes (helps with Ball).

I’m really surprised they re-signed KCP tbh. I thought that was unnecessary with Hart  there and that they could’ve got much better value out of others, even keeping both IT and Lopez would’ve been cheaper.

I’m sure lebron had something to do with them resigning KCP, considering he is one of rich Paul’s clients. I actually don’t mind the signing as he is one of the few guards on the roster who is pretty consistent from the outside and is decent defensively when engaged. But I think hart will be a better player long-term.

I know you love throwing out those retro comparisons but Hart and Rick Fox is a reach. Fox is a high-IQ player but he never had Hart’s ball skills and strong finishing ability. Neither did Ellie. Sometimes I don’t know where you get your comparisons, sometimes you hit on them though I’ll give you that.

Hart has really strong hands and forearms. Like really strong. He is able to attack the basket and absorb contact without losing the ball in situations where most players would. It also makes him a real nuisance on the defensive end. This is a guy that has been overlooked his whole life and just continues to beat the odds. He just competes relentlessly when he is out there. I definitely would consider him to be part of the lakers core and would like to see him remain on the team as long as possible. You can definitely tell he has a passion to be great.

You could see it in LeBron’s eyes that he knows Josh Hart will know the score of a game with 5 seconds to go.

Better Hart comparisons is ceiling of Wesley Matthews and basement of Danny Green.

I see a lot of similarities between Hart and Eric Gordon in that they both have strong bodies and bases which helps them tremendously on defense. They also both attack closeouts very well and finish with explosiveness around the rim. Gordon is a better shooter right now though.
